Warm Up with Your Body, Not Your Wedge
Golf Forever
by GolfForever Team

Most golfers are lucky if they get to the course 45 mins ahead of their tee time, rush straight to the range to “get all the bad shots out.” But, if you saw the “Full Swing” docuseries on Netflix, you may have realized that’s not quite how the average PGA Tour pro approaches warming up before a round. Sure, they have full physio trailers that serve as dedicated mobile gym spaces but the fundamental difference lies in the fact that tour players warm their bodies up long before they hit their first golf ball of the day.  As GolfForever members know well, working out with the Swing Trainer ..read more

Golf Forever

Considering the current landscape of the world’s top golfers, it’s hard to believe that just 14 months ago Scottie Scheffler hadn’t yet cracked the top 10 in the Official World Golf Rankings. He had been playing well coming out of the 2020-21 season as a PGA Tour up-and-comer knocking at the door of his win, but a Final Round Scoring Average of 70.36 just wasn’t getting the job done against the best players in the world. The Culprit?  Scheffler needed more strength and endurance to avoid fatiguing during tournaments. That is, at least, according to his longtime performance coach and GolfF ..read more

Golf Forever

Depending on where you live, the 2023 golf season is just a few short weeks away, if not already underway. That means a lot of us are dusting off those clubs, with the thought of getting that swing back into mid-season shape.  For any golfer, especially those over 40, some basic pre-season golf training in these four areas can go a long way to prepare your body for the season, and ensure you’re primed and ready for that first Sunday skins game. Flexibility Without consistent stretching, flexibility is one of the quickest things you lose when golf season ends. Something as simple as beginn ..read more

It’s hard to believe as of last January Scottie Scheffler had not yet cracked the top 10 in the World Rankings. Fast forward to today – just 14 months later – Scheffler has spent 33 weeks as World #1 Golfer, with his focus now set on capturing back-to-back title wins in Augusta.  What Has Scheffler’s Road to the Pros Looked Like?  From a young age, Scheffler knew golf was the sport he wanted to be the best at. Though he was a multi-sport athlete, his attention always came back to golf. Growing up in the Dallas area, Scheffler was blessed with the best. As a member at Royal Oaks Count ..read more

When GolfForever ambassador Scottie Scheffler hoisted the championship trophy at the 2022 WM Phoenix Open, it was a breakthrough moment for the 26-year-old golfer to capture his first career title, four years after turning professional in 2018. This past Sunday, when he did it again on the grounds of TPC Scottsdale, it felt more like a seasoned veteran “getting it done again” than a young gun in the early chapters of a potentially-historic career. After all, his title defense in Scottsdale doubled as his fifth career PGA Tour win, all in a 12-month span. In that timeframe, he’s also missed jus ..read more

Most notably, many remember Justin as the hero of the triumphant 1999 United States Ryder Cup team, having drilled the deciding 45-foot putt to secure the Cup. A seasoned veteran, he still admitted to feeling a little like a wide-eyed rookie at his recent PGA Tour Champions debut. Leonard turned 50 back in late June and ..read more

Pre-Round Warmup At Your Desk
Golf Forever
by Alexis Bennett

One of the best things you can do to improve your chances for a great round is to warm up key areas of your body before hitting the range. Sitting at a computer all day can make you stiff which spells disaster on the golf course. This also puts you at a higher risk for injury. Getting the blood flowing and introducing range of motion into the hips and shoulders prior to taking that first swing will give you more bang for your buck than an extra 15 minutes on the range. The best part is – you can do this from your home or office in about ten minutes with no equipment and without getting do ..read more
