The Tampa Bay Rays had their first winning homestead 4-3 by securing the win against the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday afternoon. A low-run scoring affair, Ryan Pepiot showed once again that when he’s right, he can be impressive. The Tampa Bay Rays took Tuesday’s game in walk-off fashion by an Amed Rosario dribbler to third base that Anthony Rendon could not get the throw to first on time. The game ended 7-6 but most of the damage was done from the 9th inning on as the Rays were trailing 3-1 with two out in the 9th inning when Jose Caballero came through with a 2-run triple to maintain the Rays alive. The Tampa Bay Rays took the three-game series against the San Francisco Giants by taking the last game on Sunday 9-4. René Pinto came out with the game of the season by hitting two bombs on Sunday, including his big three-run shot against Blake Snell to put the game on ice and end Snell’s outing at the Trop. The Rays pitching staff came thorugh on Friday evening combining for the W only allowing one run. The only game they lost was on Saturday which is now the first clunker of the season. The Tampa Bay Rays were defeated on Jackie Robinson Day byt the Los Angeles Angels 7-3. Although the game started as a pitcher's duel with the way Zach Eflin and Patrick Sandoval were pinpointing their offerings, by the time the 27th out was recorded, it was anything but that. The Rays had opportunities to score, especially in the 5th inning with bases loaded, no outs and their best hitters coming to the plate but none of them could get the ball out of the infield.
