The January transfer window affords every club the opportunity to revitalise their squads mid-season and, if players have been acquired diligently by the recruitment department, it can often be the difference between relative success and failure in the second half of a campaign. Leeds will almost certainly be involved in a deal or two during the first month of 2024, but perhaps not more than that after a tumultuous summer window for manager, Daniel Farke, and owners, 49ers Enterprises. One player that could be on the way to Elland Road is out-of-favour Bournemouth man, Kieffer Moore. The Sun r ..read more

Video: Jobe Bellingham’s goal controversially ruled out by dreadful offside call

Jobe Bellingham, brother of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, had a goal ruled out in what is perhaps one of the worst offside decisions you’ll see. The Sunderland star had the ball in the back of the goal against West Brom but the goal was chalked off by the linesman. A powerful shot from Adil Aouchiche was parried away by keeper Alex Palmer and Bellingham was the quickest to react as he slotted home from close range. However, replays clearly showed that Bellingham was well onside by a couple of yards at least, while Patrick Roberts, in an offside position, had no impact on the play. The ..read more

Leicester keeping tabs on goal-machine as Iheanacho replacement

Despite a home defeat against Leeds United at the weekend, Enzo Maresca’s Leicester City side are still flying high at the top of the Championship table. Though they have Ipswich Town just three points behind them, the gap between the Foxes and Daniel Farke’s Leeds in third is a cavernous 11 points. It would take a monumental drop off in form and results for Leicester to be caught, however, with so much of the season to go, any loss of confidence could absolutely be capitalised on. One way to keep things fresh and players on their toes is to bring in others, and that could be something that Ma ..read more

It’s not often that there’s a heartwarming story to be told in football circles, but for one former Premier League defender, all of his dreams appear to have come true at the ripe old age of 38. At one stage in his long career, which began in 2003 at Luton Town and still isn’t over in 2023 at Cheltenham Town, Curtis Davies would almost certainly have had aspirations to play for the England national team. Unfortunately for the former West Brom, Aston Villa, Leicester City, Birmingham City, Hull City and Derby County centre-back, a call-up for the senior side never materialised, and three U21 ca ..read more

It never rains but it pours for Daniel Farke and Leeds United at present, with yet another obstacle placed in the manager’s way at the start of this 2023/24 Championship season. Farke has had more than enough to deal with since he took over the reins at the club, not least striker Willy Gnonto effectively going on strike to try and force through a move to Premier League side, Everton. A number of players have also left the club and there’s still time for more to go given that there’s over two weeks left of the current transfer window. One player that is looking to ply his trade elsewhere is L ..read more
