A good signing as the club builds depth.
A great signing made as the club looks for more depth for the new season.
CF Montréal announced on Friday the acquisition of Canadian midfielder Ilias Iliadis, who has agreed to a two-year contract for 2023 and 2024, including two options years in 2025 and 2026.
A Canadian born player, Iliadis has a good chance to be part of the rotation here at CFM. The player was in Greece, but now gets his shot in his home born country and to compete in MLS.

CF Montréal was dealt more bad news this week as the roster exodus continues. Kei Kamara came out on social media and requested a trade.

While we don’t know specifics, the club looks likely to acquiesce the trade and could be on the look again for a striker. Kei performed relatively great as CFM’s striker both in spot starts and more notably as a super sub.
The roster churn continues as they now add another striker to the list of needs. Kamara was ..read more

A big piece of good news.
Very good piece of news as the club announced, Victor Wanyama has been signed to a two-year contract for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He will remain a Designated Player with the Club.
Excellent news as we heard from GM, VP and more in Mr. Renard:
“We are glad to have concluded a new deal with Victor and that he remains with us,” said Vice-President and Chief Sporting Officer, Olivier Renard. “During the last three seasons, he has been an important player on the field and in the locker room. His personality, his experience, and his qualities ..read more

A cool and awesome moment.
Argentina are World Cup champions after a thrilling and really sensational victory over France.
In all the celebrations it was really cool and awesome to see Ignacio Piatti in Qatar as his national team won it all.

There has to be an intent to contend.
CF Montréal need to make their best efforts to follow up a historic MLS season with an impact signing. Given the flood of cash they have recieved for departed players, the signings that they released and the TAM/GAM money they have accumulated needs to be for something.
Reaching for the stars is difficult and I understand that but this ownership group needs to show ambition and really prove to fans they will make sacrifices monetarily so that they will compete and make sure last season was not a fluke.
