QPR left it late to seal all three points against West Bromwich Albion with Charlie Austin’s 89th minute strike earning his side a vital 1-0 win at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium. West Brom started brightly with Jayson Molumby testing QPR’s debutant keeper Scott Marshall from range before Karlan Grant slid a cross across the six-yard box that just evaded Matt Phillips. However, the Hoops grew into the game and nearly went ahead on the stroke of half-time, as Stefan Johansen fired a goalbound effort that was beaten away by Baggies keeper David Button. QPR picked up where they left off afte ..read more

Fulham thumped promotion rivals West Bromwich Albion 3-0 courtesy of a Aleksandar Mitrovic hat-trick in a fiery Craven Cottage encounter. Mitrovic opened the scoring in the 20th minute from the penalty spot after Kyle Bartley was adjudged to have fouled the forward in the box. And it was 2-0 five minutes before half-time as Mitrovic pounced on a horrendous back pass by West Brom’s Robert Snodgrass to coolly slotted home. The Baggies tried to rally after the break with Conor Townsend producing a tantalising cross which none of his team-mates could connect with inside the six yard box. However ..read more

West Bromwich Albion clinched promotion to the Premier League at the expense of Brentford despite being held to a 2-2 draw by Queens Park Rangers at the Hawthorns. With the Bees losing to Barnsley, a point was enough to seal the second automatic promotion spot after an entertaining match in which QPR withheld all credibility. The Hoops were rewarded for weathering the early West Brom storm with Ryan Manning giving them a shock lead just after the half hour mark for his second goal in as many games. But two minutes before the interval Grady Diangana restored parity – receiving the ball from Cal ..read more

Brentford picked up a crucial three points with a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at Griffin Park to reduce the gap between them and the top two to just five points. The Bees opened the scoring in the 16th minute with the first chance of the game with Ollie Watkins tapping in Josh Dasilva’s deflected cross for his 23rd of the season, following an excellent team move. West Brom created little in the opening 45 minutes with the only shot on target coming after 28 minutes, courtesy of a Grady Diangana free-kick that Brentford keeper David Raya held easily.  It was a brighter start to the s ..read more

Millwall’s Championship Play-Off hopes were dealt another blow with a 2-0 loss at home to table-toppers West Bromwich Albion. Filip Krovinovic’s 42nd minute strike and Dara O’Shea’s late header proved the difference in treacherous weather conditions at The Den. The stormy conditions dictated much of the opening exchanges, although the Baggies adapted quicker – forcing Millwall keeper Bartosz Bialkowski into a couple of decent saves as well as striking the post early on through Matheus Pereira. In comparison, Matt Smith cut a lone figure up front as the Lions struggled to fashion many chances w ..read more

Charlton Athletic twice came from behind to draw 2-2 in an ill-tempered encounter against Championship leaders West Bromwich Albion at The Valley. Despite a sloppy start for both sides, the Baggies opened the scoring in the 22nd minute through Kenneth Zohore’s strike. However, the lead was short-lived as six minutes later Connor Gallagher’s corner found Josh Davison to poke home the equaliser via the head of Naby Sarr. The start of the second period saw West Brom regain the lead after just 31 seconds thanks to Robson-Kanu, who fired into the top right corner after a low cross from Matt Phillip ..read more

Charlton Athletic are out of this season’s FA Cup after a 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion at The Valley. With a side already depleted through injuries, a youthful looking Addicks started brightly with both Andre Green and Brendan Wiredu seeing efforts go just wide. But the more experienced Baggies began to take control and took a 32nd minute lead as Kenneth Zahore played a neat one-two with Kyle Edwards before coolly slotting home. The second-half saw Charlton’s youngsters continue to compete well with Josh Davison placing a header straight at West Brom keeper Jonathan Bond. However, the vi ..read more

Millwall moved up to 19th in the Championship table with an impressive 2-0 win over promotion chasing West Bromwich Albion. Ryan Tunnicliffe’s 30th minute strike arguably opened the scoring for the Lions against the run of play as the visitors dominated without creating any clear cut chances. However, the Baggies should have been level early in the second half when Jake Cooper’s foul gave Jay Rodriguez the chance equalise from twelve yards only to fire wide from the spot. That reprieve prompted Millwall to turn the screw and the Lions managed to double their advantage when Ben Thompson’s drive ..read more

Brentford’s seven-game Griffin Park winning run came to an end with a 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion. In swirling wind, the Bees started the brightest with Baggies stopper Sam Johnstone pulling off a series of saves to deny Said Benrahma (twice), Julian Jeanvier and Yoann Barbet. However it was the visitors who took the lead in the 51st minute as Kyle Edwards skipped past four challenges before clipping the ball over Brentford keeper Luke Daniels. The Bees nearly responded immediately with Sergi Canos twice forcing Johnstone into fine saves from long-range efforts while Daniels also had to ..read more
