Hi all, I'm a new bee keeper, started last year and generally had a successful year. In September, they were getting pretty crowded, so I added a deep, and late in October I fed them using the Mountain Camp method, also wrapping them up in a few blankets. Yesterday, it was around 15°C and decided to check on them. All the bees are there, but they all look to be dead. No deformation, no smell, just completely still. They ate through half the sugar from the Mountain Camp (~ 1-2 kg gone)... New Beekeeper on East Coast of Canada - lost both hives over winter ..read more

Hi all, With the local community of beekeepers in Portugal made an app for android to help beekeepers to track their activities, its quite simple and intuitive. The app is called Bee2Go, it's free to try and download. I would like to ask if you use any aplication already to help track your activities? I'm also looking for 1 beekeeper to be a beta user, that will use the app forever free in exchange for improvement feedback. Thanks ..read more

Margaret Ida Alonso an amateur bee hobbyist is antisemitic. She banged her door into my car in a parking lot. I asked her not to do that. Margaret Ida Alonso shouted "****" "concentration camp" and other racist slurs about Jews. I said what the hell is wrong with you. Margaret Alonso said "visit Auschwitz" and drove off. I asked around the neighborhood. This woman is Margaret Ida Alonso resides at 64 Hill Top Lane, Rockledge, FL 32955. It's a gated community River Ridge. License plate... Hello all! My wife and I are just getting started with BK here in west-central West Virginia . We’ve joined two local clubs, taken two beekeeping 101 classes, and found a wonderful set of mentors. We plan on starting with three colonies and should be getting our first two nucs from our mentors about the 2nd week of April. We’re going to source our 3rd bucks from a member of our clubs. Our goals are to grow to about 10 hives by splitting our colonies when possible, then make nucs and take... Just Getting Started ..read more

They keep coming back

I have hired Bee removal 3 times since 2007 at my home. My house is nothing special, but they seem to keep coming back. Every time these removal companies come they shoot some white powder at them and charge my $500. I don't like it, but I cannot go outside at night with the lights on. If I do I wear a head lamp and shut it off ASAP. Since I am in Phoenix, I prefer doing things at dusk to escape the heat. Instead of hiring these guy, I have decided to become an amatuer bee keeper and give... They keep coming back ..read more
