Reading are keeping tabs on Sunderland U21 boss and former Royals captain Graeme Murty as a potential successor to Paul Ince, according to a Patreon report from Alan Nixon. The former Scotland international is a much-loved figure at the Select Car Leasing Stadium and would be given more time in Berkshire than many other potential candidates would because their supporters may be willing to be more patient. However, sections of the Royals’ fanbase won’t be keen to see Murty risk tarnishing his reputation – because he is fondly remembered for his contributions to their cause during the most succ ..read more

The 2022-23 season of Reading FC is still hanging in the balance when they could have arguably had nothing to play for at this current moment. There is 10 matches remaining and on 44 points, the Royals are yet to reach the magical 50 which usually sees you safe of the drop zone, but you’d think that they will accumulate enough points to be safe. However, a potential six-point deduction, which as of right now would drop them to 21st position and just six points above the bottom three, could be on the cards if the EFL decide that they have breached the terms of their business plan that was agre ..read more

Reading are considering their former defender Graeme Murty as their potential next manager to replace Paul Ince, journalist Alan Nixon has reported. Murty made 339 appearances for the Royals as a player between 1998 and 2009, helping the club rise from the third-tier to the Premier League. Having retired in 2010, Murty’s only previous senior management job was with Rangers from 2017 to 2018. The 48-year-old is now currently Head of Professional Development at Reading’s Championship rivals Sunderland, although it seems he is starting to attract attention from his old club. Boro completely outclassed Paul Ince’s side as they secured a 5-0 victory at the Riverside Stadium. The Blades then claimed all three points in their meeting with the Royals earlier this week thanks to a strike from Iliman Ndiaye. With Reading facing the prospec ..read more

Reading centre-back Liam Moore has hit out at the “lies and stories” said about him since he was stripped of the captaincy, issuing a message on his Instagram story. An EFL insider has warned Reading that their potential points deduction will be applied immediately if they are found guilty of breaching financial regulations, speaking to The Sun.
