NFL changing kickoff rules to the XFL way of doing it?
Bucs Life Media

Pointless waste of time It has become clear that the NFL’s rules on kickoffs basically make them pointless. Most NFL teams have a kicker that can boot it into the end zone and beyond. You can’t blame the League for doing all it can to prevent needless injuries. What has resulted is an anti-climatic waste of time. The kickoff return has become history, aside from the occasional on-side kick that you might see in desperation, so the NFL is considering adopting the XFL’s rules governing the kickoff. The XFL’s way Under the new rule, the kickoff will be moved back to the 30-yard line. The receivin ..read more

Jason Licht is only throwing knockouts

Mike Evans and Taylor Swift In this offseason, before the 2024 campaign. Jason Licht has been throwing nothing but haymakers and undercuts, and they are dropping like flies at One Buc. The they that I speak of are items from the list of “must-do” priorities before the draft. Mainly, free agency matters. Remember back to a few weeks before the 2023 season when Evans and his agent set a contract deadline before the beginning of the season for an extension? Do you recall the feelings a lot of Bucs’ fans had in the pit of their stomachs as the deadline came and went? It was kind of a light gloom h ..read more

Running Back Sean Tucker set to make it count this go around

Heart Ailment caused him to miss the 2023 spring activities Undrafted Free Agent Sean Tucker missed spring activities last year while dealing with a Heart problem that first surfaced around the NFL Combine, but was later cleared to play by doctors. When you miss time like that, especially when you are a rookie, it can be tough to catch up, and it was for Sean Tucker. He played sparingly during the first 3 to 4 games of the season, collecting just 15 carries for a 1.53 average. Word was that he also was having some problems with his blocking assignments. Nothing but fumbling will get you to the ..read more

Evans to explore outside offers for his services

2023 is a banner year for Evans Simply stated: Mike Evans has been, times ten, as good as anyone thought he could be when the Bucs drafted him a decade ago, sitting atop the Buccaneers’ record books and looking down at everyone else. His work and philanthropic ways in the community have only furthered Tampa’s love affair with Mike Evans. So when Mr. Evans talked about how much love he has for the team, the fans, and the Bay Area, it was considered by most fans to be an afterthought that Jason Licht and One Buc would find a way to get a contract done so he could finish his NFL career where it b ..read more

Despite Division Crown, Buccaneers are in a rebuilding mode
Bucs Life Media

Despite the current South Division talent level, competition is getting better. One would think, looking in from the outside, that the Bucs’ third consecutive division crown would signal the team is in great shape. In reality, Bucs’ fans should be well aware that it’s the current success rate, or lack thereof, in the South Division of its members that has allowed a mediocre team to take the division for the third time in a row. So many fans act like we should all not complain but celebrate our situation. While I’m glad we get to hang another banner/flag in Ray-Jay, it rings so very hollow and ..read more

When Baker Mayfield signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the offseason, there was very little positivity was spread regarding the upcoming season. Fast forward to the final two weeks of the regular season; the Bucs have more than doubled their projected win total, and Baker Mayfield has fans clamoring over the 6th year quarterback as he has entered the conversation for NFL Comeback Player of the Year, along with Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin and Cleveland Browns QB Joe Flacco (who entered the 2023 season as a stay-at-home Dad before joining the Browns mid-season). New contract on the horizon in Tampa?
Bucs Life Media

Seemed so unlikely The Bucs brought in the former number one overall to shore up their quarterback position before the 2023 season. He was signed and handed the starter’s role early on in the process; the rest, as they say, is history. The team was hot out of the gate, winning their first three games and turning heads around the NFL. It all seemed so unlikely. Mayfield quickly became the feel-good story of the season. With many sports outlets running stories on how this was Mayfield’s last chance to get it right in the NFL, even more so reporting on how he was playing better than he ever had ..read more

Al Michaels’ NFL days are over, end of an era
Bucs Life Media

The 79-year-old Al Michaels and NBC have parted ways after the network decided not to renew Michaels’ contract. Michaels was with ABC for three decades, where he worked at Monday Night Football as a play-by-play guy for twenty of those years. He had been with NBC doing Sunday Night Football for 16 years. Michaels was replaced by Mike Tirico last season. He had been given an emeritus title and was still contributing to playoff coverage. Last season, Michaels and Tony Dungy were calling the big Jaguar comeback over the Chargers in the playoffs. The two were criticized for not having any energy i ..read more

Leonard Fournette finally lands a job

Passes physical Former Bucs running back Leonard Fournette (playoff Lenny) has passed a physical, and will be added to the Buffalo Bills Practice Squad. After being released by the Bucs this past offseason, Fournette was anxious to test his monetary value to interested NFL Teams. There was a problem that arose, much to his chagrin. There just wasn’t any interest in the former LSU Tiger, at least not at that time. Adds needed depth As it often happens in this league, Fournette just needed to wait for attrition to thin the herds. The Bills’ Damien Harris is injured, and James Cook nor Latavius M ..read more
