As a fan of magic and artists who perform shows, I have had a lot of opportunities to meet many amazing performers over the last 5 or so years. Hello and welcome to my latest blog post! Apologies for the lack of updates over the last month. After BMC 23, I ended up with a chest infection which turned into Covid. What a nightmare that was and I ended up off work for a couple of weeks. Hence being a little quiet on the website/blog front. This was third time lucky for me to finally attend a BMC. 2021 being cancelled and then last year, weather issues causing train problems which prevented me from travelling. At the time of writing, my train is due to depart on time. A train full of Magicians. The nearest I will get to going on a train leaving Hogwarts I guess! Until next year, goodbye Blackpool. This was third time lucky for me to get to this convention. What with Covid cancellations and then bad weather last year, I was finally able to get to BMC. As a magic fan, this was a very special convention show. For everything you get and see, the price is very reasonable. I purchased the Gold card for full entry during the convention. The running and organisation of BMC was excellent. Lots of polite staff, helping when needed. Thankfully I finally got a good sleep. But I looked pretty knackered in photos taken on Sunday (Photo with Vinny Sagoo being a good example in gallery). After a breakfast walk, I was back in the dealers room and I was able to get some gifts for my daughter. Sunday morning was slow and I rested a bit. Day 3 was full on in a good way. Quite top heavy from afternoon through to the evening shows. Great to have a drink with Angus Baskerville, and finally catch up and meet. And also fab to finally meet Vinny Sagoo over the course of the weekend. Performances by Lea Kyle and Eric Chien were highlights of many excellent performances at the gala show. For the second night, I didn't sleep that well. Probably I was just too excited by the BMC event. I had also seen Jay & Joss perform last night and was still hyped up after their 2300 to midnight show. I will share more details about that amazing show soon. I started the day with a nice brisk walk by the sea to make up for eating a full English at the hotel. I attended a few lectures today. Sorry that this post is later than planned. The mobile and even Wi-Fi is not that great in Blackpool currently - at least for blogging with content. Highlights were the witch appearing at the Gala show. Romany and the Jay & Joss shows were also excellent. The witch was scary but very funny. Romany's show is hilarious, and she was so funny and talented. Jay & Joss - wow. Great tech and stage illusions.
