Own The Mistake And Make A Change
Swansea Oh Swansea | Independent Swansea City Fanzine

Defeats in a south Wales derby will always provoke strong reactions. It’s the game we care about more than any other, and in truth we’ve been very spoilt in this fixture over the last few years and inevitably it was going to go the other way at some point. I can accept that we will on occasions lose to that lot up the road, but what I can’t accept is in a manner like that. Just like in the previous game against Bristol City, our performance was pathetic. Cardiff have improved, but we’re starting from a very low bar with them, but we’ve got significantly worse in a short period. Chalk and chees ..read more

John Hollins – A Tribute
Swansea Oh Swansea | Independent Swansea City Fanzine
by Steven Carroll

Today we learned the sad news of the passing of former Swansea City manager John Hollins at the age of 76. During my time as a fan, no one has had a longer spell in the dugout than Hollins, who was in charge from July 1998 until September 2001.  When he took over we were at a very low ebb, having just recorded one of the lowest finishes in our history – 19th in what is now League 2. But he would ensure an upturn in form as the 20th century drew to a close.  For my 11th birthday, my present was being Swans mascot for the home game closest to that date, which so happened to be Cardiff ..read more

Positive End Needs To Be Built On
Swansea Oh Swansea | Independent Swansea City Fanzine

Another season is over, and even by Swansea City’s standards it was one of the most bizarre. A poor start followed by an inspired run, an awful and long mid season spell followed by a brilliant ending. Off the pitch we saw the usual boardroom unrest followed by rumours of new people coming on board which has now come to fruition to an extent, although more additions/departures seem likely. Let’s look at all the issues in more detail. Players Out Of Contract  Ryan Manning looks likely to leave which is a real shame. The supporter’s player of the season has been a key performer and as thing ..read more

Thank You Lenny

Today we heard the devastating news that Lenny Johnrose has passed away at the age of 52. He was diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease in 2017 and has kept supporters up to date on his brave fight against this awful illness on social media during the last five years.  It goes without saying that our thoughts are with his friends and family at this sad time, and I would like use this opportunity to pay tribute to him. When I think back to the time when Johnrose joined our club, we really were at our lowest ebb. The current generation don’t know how lucky they are, and for us older one’s it ..read more

After the recent resolution to the dispute over the 2016 sale of Swansea City. We discuss it in detail with trust chairman Dave Dalton in part 2 of our exclusive interview. SoS: The Trust recently settled the dispute with the current majority shareholders and previous shareholders. Can you tell us how that came about?  DD: In June 2021 the Trust wrote to all our members to update them on the status of potential legal action to address the issues arising from the 2016 sale of Swansea City Football Club and the impact that has had on our position within the club. Dave Dalton Interview Part 1
Swansea Oh Swansea | Independent Swansea City Fanzine

In our most recent fanzine which was released on 9th April, we published an interview with Supporters Trust chairman Dave Dalton, but it was so long we couldn’t publish it in full. Therefore it was agreed that we would publish it in full on our website in two parts. Here’s part one. Congratulations on being appointed as the new chairman of the Supporters Trust. What made you go for that role and how challenging do you think it will be?  Thanks Steve. To be perfectly honest I wasn’t even contemplating the role of Trust Chair coming up for a good while. Andy (Godden) took over as Chair last ..read more

Three Things

By Phil Dempster For those that are unaware of Three Things its something I’ve done on Facebook for all the games I attend each season.  It started after that crushing 3-1 defeat to Spurs after we were 1-0 up on 89/90 minutes.  My Facebook post was “Three Things we didn’t deserve that, I hate football and good job I don’t have a cat” obviously I would never kick a cat it was just a turn of phrase.  After that I got people asking for more three things and it became a thing.   It’s just my initial opinion on the game anyway here’s my season review hope you enjoy it. Well ..read more

The 58th edition of SoS fanzine will hit the streets before our game with Derby on Saturday. Here’s what we have in store for you. Trust Chairman Interview – We’ve secured an interview with Dave Dalton to discuss the Supporters Trust settlement with the former and current shareholders. It’s a long read (takes up 6 pages) and we couldn’t put all of it in this issue so we’ve focused on questions around the deal. But myself and Dave have agreed the full interview will go on the fanzine website in two or three parts shortly after Easter so everyone can read it. All that’s Needed – In response ..read more

Owners Once Again Cast A Shadow Over Swans
Swansea Oh Swansea | Independent Swansea City Fanzine

The now-closed transfer window was by no means the worst in the recent history of Swansea City, but then again the bar has been set so low since the change of ownership in 2016, that it really isn’t a compliment either.   We did after all leave ourselves with only one senior centre half in the summer of 2018, and in January three years ago tried to give away one of the jewels in the crown to a divisional rival on loan. When measured against those two scarcely believable episodes, even an average window will look great. But in reality it still isn’t great and that’s how I would describe wh ..read more
