Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has admitted he grew up a big Tottenham fan and has spoken about how special it was to score against Spurs earlier this season. Scott has spoken publicly before about his love for the north London side, and it seems the club had some interest in him last summer. Tottenham were linked with Scott before he ended up joining Bournemouth, with his £25million asking price reported to have been an issue for them at the time. Still, Scott clearly still has a strong affection for Spurs, saying: “My dad, big Spurs fan. So I think that’s just where it comes from, no othe ..read more

Justin Kluivert has restored the home sides lead just minutes after Bruno Fernandes grabbed an equaliser. The Red Devils are currently losing 2-1 to the Cherries after the first half was filled with sloppy mistakes which were swiftly punished. Dominic Solanke broke the deadlock after turning Willy Kambwala inside out before firing past the outstretched Andre Onana. Fernandes levelled the contest with a volley from five yards out to get his side back into the game but that was short-lived with Kluivert restoring his side’s leads moments later. The English striker has given the Cherries the lead against Manchester United after overpowering the visitor’s defence. Erik ten Hag’s side has got off to the worst possible start against Bournemouth with Dominic Solanke bringing his Premier League tally up to 16 goals so far this season. Pouncing on the hesitant Alejandro Garnacho in the middle of the park, the ball found its way to Solanke who put Willy Kambwala on his back before firing past Andre Onana into the bottom corner of the goal. Premier League will use Semi Automated Offside Technology from 2024/25
CaughtOffside » AFC Bournemouth

It’s taken the consistently bad application of VAR for the Premier League to finally allow a vote on Semi Automated Offside Technology. First used in the 2022 World Cup, the technology – in practice – has seemed so much more effective than the haphazard line drawing that the English top-flight have used to date. There are genuine question marks over just how accurate the drawing of the lines have been in some instances, and camera angles are often unhelpful to the officials at PGMOL who are under pressure to produce a quick decision. Premier League clubs vote unanimously for SAOT introduction ..read more

Newcastle are weighing up a move for Bournemouth centre back Lloyd Kelly who is out of contract at the end of the season. Long term injuries to centre backs Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles has accelerated the Magpies need to get a deal done for Kelly with their central defensive options somewhat depleted. Newcastle are also likely to lose Paul Dummett at the end of the season with the defender out of contract and unlikely to be offered a new deal. Given Newcastle are facing issues with Premier League profit and sustainability rules signing Kelly on a free transfer, coupled with his Premier Le ..read more

Xavi Hernandez tendered his resignation at Barcelona earlier in the season after consistent criticism of his team’s performances, and since then the Catalan outfit have been brilliant. Maybe the thought that each player is again playing for his place in the side has galvanised the group for the final few games of the campaign. Barcelona, though unlikely to win both La Liga and the Champions League, still remain in the hunt for success in either competition, and stranger things have happened. Football watchers will know to never say never where the beautiful game is concerned. Just ask Paris Sa ..read more

A new era is set to begin at Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp departing and players such as Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly potentially targeted again by the new regime. Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement to bring Michael Edwards back to the club as part of a major rebuild in the Anfield board room.
