BRENTWOOD (BCN) — A car and a big rig collided head-on early Thursday morning on state Highway 4 in Contra Costa County killing the only occupant in the car, California Highway Patrol officials said. The collision was reported to the CHP at 5:54 a.m. east of Balfour Road. The driver of a silver Toyota Corolla was traveling east on Highway 4 when the Toyota crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with the semi-trailer. BRENTWOOD (CBS SF) — An ATM thief used a stolen tractor to pry the machine from the front of a bank in Brentwood early Friday morning, although getting the money proved much more difficult. Brentwood police said officers responded to an alarm at around 4:40 a.m. at a Wells Fargo bank branch on the 2500 block of Sand Creek Road. BRENTWOOD (CBS SF) – Police have seized fireworks and released additional details in connection with a fireworks explosion that injured two 12-year-olds in the city of Brentwood over the weekend. Around 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, officers were called to the area of Birch and Third streets on reports of an explosion. Officers responded to a 3:20 p.m. report of the robbery in the 200 block of Sand Creek Road where a Fremont Bank branch is located.
