GALT (CBS13) – Officers are investigating after three people were found shot in a Galt neighborhood on Fourth of July night. Galt police say, just before 11 p.m., they started getting reports of multiple people shot along the 600 block of Myrtle Street. Small Brush Fire Contained In Galt

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) —A small brush fire broke out Friday in a vacant field in Galt. The fire happened near Amador Avenue and Industrial Drive around 11 a.m., and a short time later, Public Works staff and personnel with Consumnes CSD Fire District were able to contain the blaze. The fire burned over three acres before crews were able to contain it. GALT (CBS13) — Five people were arrested after multiple others were intentionally shot with paintball guns throughout the city of Galt, police said Wednesday. Of the five arrested, two adults — Frank Plascencia and Yair Contreras, both 18 and from Lodi — were booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail while three minors were booked into juvenile hall. GALT (CBS13) — A man was arrested in Galt after running a stop sign and then fleeing from the officer when they attempted to pull him over, said the Galt Police Department. The incident occurred near the area of Walnut Avenue and Elk Hills Drive. The driver fled from officers and was pursued through residential areas before entering NB SR-99 at Twin Cities Road. GALT (CBS13) – An Elk Grove man was killed in a crash along Highway 99 in Galt late Thursday morning, authorities say. California Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 11:50 a.m. along the northbound side of Highway 99, near Simmerhorn Road. A minivan was reportedly driving on the shoulder for a few hundred feet at over 90 mph when it crashed into the back of a parked big rig. GALT (AP/CBS13) – A suspect in a 1988 sexual assault and killing of a 79-year-old woman in Galt has been identified thanks to advanced DNA testing done on scrapings from the victim’s fingernails, authorities said Tuesday. Terry Leroy Bramble was 32 years old when he sexually assaulted, stabbed and strangled Lucille Hultgren inside her home, Galt Police Chief Brian Kalinowski said. Bramble was homeless and a registered sex offender when he died in 2011 of natural causes while living under a bridge on Highway 99 in Galt, Kalinowski said. GALT (CBS13) — Galt police struggled to capture a riderless horse that was running loose through traffic today, said the Galt Police Department. The horse was running on the road northbound on Oak Avenue near A Street. When the officers were unable to capture him on foot they began to pursue the horse in their patrol vehicles. GALT (CBS13) — An arrest was made following a bank robbery in Galt Friday afternoon, police said. According to the Galt Police Department, several reports of the robbery came in just after 1:45 p.m. from along Twin Cities Road. The suspect — later identified as 18-year-old Elliot Thomas from Sacramento — was located a little more than four hours later and taken into custody.
