Tottenham chiefs will likely be frustrated by a Premier League club owner’s decision to speak out on a controversial plan. Each club in the Premier League has one vote on matters of governance, with 14 votes required to pass a motion – on changes to Profit and Sustainability Rules, for example. Given their shared interests as part of the so-called ‘Big Six’, Spurs have typically sided with the two Manchester clubs, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham on key decisions. Newcastle United will likely be busy in the summer transfer window in a bid to kick on from a somewhat mixed 2023/24 campaign. The Magpies have found form at just the right time and will now fancy their chances of beating out-of-form Tottenham for fifth place. However, Newcastle’s squad was pushed to its limits this season and, as a result, couldn’t build on their fourth-placed finish in 2022/23. With the Magpies likely to be in European competition once again next season, they’ll need to increase their strength in depth. Newcastle may well look to bolster their attacking ranks amid speculatio ..read more

‘It’s never’: Dermot Gallagher reacts to Arsenal-Bournemouth VAR controversy

Arsenal recorded a 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday and the game had its fair share of questionable VAR calls. It all started with the decision to award Kai Havertz a penalty on the stroke of half-time, which Bukayo Saka duly dispatched and ensured Mikel Arteta’s side were up and running. Arsenal dominated the opening 45 minutes and had something to show for it, but many felt they were fortunate to win the spot-kick in the first place. That penalty decision was debatable and, unfortunately, in today’s game, you see many of those given, even if it does, in this case, annoy the Bournemouth s ..read more

Arsenal will be eager to make the most of their early kick-off on Saturday to pull further away from Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table. Mikel Arteta’s Gunners host Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium in the day’s 12:30pm kick-off. With City not playing until 5:30pm, Arsenal will hope to deal a psychological blow to Pep Guardiola’s side by going four points clear before they’ve kicked a ball. Arsenal have bounced back well from their shock 2-0 loss to Aston Villa last month, going on a run of three league wins in a row. Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth are also in good form, hav ..read more

Leeds United could now see former target Milos Kerkez move to Chelsea after impressing in his first season with Bournemouth. Leeds United spent on a new left back in 2021, landing Junior Firpo from Barcelona. That was seen as an important signing but Firpo blew hot and cold in the Premier League. Leeds were therefore linked with adding another left back in January of 2023 as Jesse Marsch looked to keep the club afloat. Max Wober ended up arriving to reunite with Marsch, offering an option to play at left back and centre back. Leeds did look at other options though, and one target from January ..read more

West Ham United are convinced about the potential signing of Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly on a free transfer. The January transfer window has only just gone but fans may already be looking forward to the summer. In the case of West Ham United fans, you could hardly blame them for wanting the end of the season to come. David Moyes is a man under pressure right now with West Ham now six Premier League games without a win and on a three-game losing run. Whether or not Moyes is in charge for the summer window is unclear but West Ham appear to have a key transfer target in mind. West Ham really ..read more
