Well , its that time of year again and I'm getting all fired up over lawn season 2024. Got the mower ready and now I'm on the trimmer . I have about an acre of brushy area that is too treacherous to mow and whatnot so I keep it Cleared out with a brush blade that mounts on the trimmer head and I've just worn the old ones blades down to nubs . Looking for reccomendations for a new blade , so many types to choose from . There is the kind that has chainsaw chain on it , three prong saw blades... Last year in anticipation of moving out to the country I went all in on the Greenworks 60v platform. Need a jackhammer to crack em.. but they sure are worth it. Much bigger than chicken eggs, higher in protein and vitamins and almost double the yolk of a standard chicken egg, more yolk than white and a thicker white.. very good and worth the trouble cracking them ..read more

In researching options for ways to harvest water from the stream uphill to a cabin, I ran across this neat idea for bringing water to a catchment tank for an inexpensive off-grid solution. No expensive well or electricity connectivity required. Not quite weatherproof (freezing), but no worries with wind and rain. With some basic stuff from a hardware store, you can put together an automatic pump to carry water up a significant elevation change. It uses the "water hammer" phenomenon to...
