A classic of a classic. Only 24 made in 1967...how rare? It's not the Firebird you may think of. It's their twelve string...the FB-12. Burnt orange. Yes, some aging spiderwebbing and an umber patina to paint colour. I turned down $35K from Gibson Garage. One owner...me! Will consider $40,000 USD. Nope...that's the price. You pay shipping and insurance ..read more

Silver spot is frozen for the weekend..at a new record low.. but the "trade war" rhetoric seems ot be heating up..especially on Friday. is the "risk premium" already included in current spot since the latest announcement was Friday morning.. or might there be a small rise coming Monday? if so this weekend would be an especially good time to buy.. But I bought even more silver every almost month in past 5 months.. And spot has been dropping.. so technically I have been buying at a... Read more ..read more

We have a two-pane insulated sliding glass door in our living room. As the house cools down during the early evening, the door will make a single loud snapping sound. I assume this sound is from thermal expansion/contraction of the door. The sound happens only once a night. Last night I was sitting in my living room chair in the dark. I was staring out the sliding glass door into the darkness. The door snapped and I saw a small flash of light at the exact same time. The flash of light was... Read more ..read more

I bought a small cattle/grass farm a number of years ago, and life has unfortunately dealt me with disability. I am unable to get out of the way of angry cow and unable to work with them. As a result, I started raising sheep several years ago on part of the farm and rented out the remaining acres. I put up new high tensile fence for the sheep, but the rest of the farm remained barbed wire. I would like to expand my sheep operation and will need to put in high tensile fence to replace... Took friends plant hunting with me today. I found Grancy Graybeard, a wild native species, aka Chionanthus virginicus aka Fringe Tree. It is commonly used as a lawn ornamental here in the south, beautiful while in bloom. It's more or less a large shrub. This one was about 10ft tall. In the wild it's common near lookout mtn, sand mtn and in bankhead national forest, the northern part of the state. I've seen it many times there. But i have never seen it growing wild locally. Not once until... Read more ..read more
