The Most Majestic Place Of Worship I finally made it to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, a beautiful Hindu temple in Robbinsville, New Jersey. The first time I came, they were still closed due to COVID, and I was disappointed that they were not letting visitors in. This time, I called before driving over an hour and asked if visitors were allowed back. They were back open and ready for the public. I dream of visiting Cambodia one day and seeing the beautiful architecture and history, but until I can visit, I will stay local.  The temple is a spiritual oasis for Hindus and non-Hindus ali ..read more

Self-Care for the New Year It’s time to make real changes this year, not that New Year resolution list we all make and don’t follow through with. The top on our list should start with self-care for the new year. If we do not care for ourselves, we can’t care for others. This is a saying we have all heard before, but we often do not fully realize how important it is until we face our mental health issues. Just like our physical health, our mental health is just as important, if not more so. You’re running on empty, burnt out from work, taking care of everyone but yourself. Heading to New York In my previous blog, I said, that I had a love/hate relationship when it comes to visiting New York, but each visit becomes less stressful and more memorable. When I go into the city, I take public transportation. It is just easy for me. I am better prepared when I go into the city. I brought a book this time, but think I would have preferred my headphones. The train is busy, especially around the holidays and there are a dozen of conversations and phones that can be disruptive. I know to wear comfortable shoes. The streets of New York are merciless on your feet. I brought ..read more

Road Trip to Virginia Beach I survived my first road trip with my family. We planned a last-minute trip to Virginia Beach to visit my daughter and I wish I took this trip sooner. We had an amazing time, six hours on the road and two rest stops along the way. I wish we could have stayed longer. When taking a road trip with your family, there are a few things to consider. I’m going to share my experience and hope it helps you to plan a great trip as well. We checked the weather to see if there would be any storms. The weather said it would shower off and on, but that didn’t damper our plans ..read more
