I assume that if you are reading this article, you have the same questions that I had 2 years ago. When you first look into the motorsports industry it is a pretty daunting task and the prospects of getting a job seem minimal. However, with a bit of knowledge and effort, getting a job in motorsports may not be as hard as you think. Location The first and most important aspect is location. If you are from Europe or the US then feel free to jump ahead, but for those based in countries outside of these regions listen up! When I first started applying for motorsports jobs I was based in South Afr ..read more

2021 Turkish Grand Prix Review

The 2021 Turkish Grand Prix was an exciting race by the standards of the turbo-hybrid era but did not match the chaos and brilliancy that we have seen throughout the rest of the season. Nevertheless, the race was far from boring and had a couple of memorable moments. In particular, the battle between Hamilton and Perez was wonderful! Let’s have a look at some of the highlights. Engine Penalties and Damage Limitation Each driver is allocated three Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) for use throughout the season. These engines are designed with incredibly tight tolerances and every compone ..read more

2021 Russian Grand Prix Review

Who said Sochi was a boring track! 100 wins for Hamilton, heartbreak for Norris and a brilliant recovery drive for Verstappen. The Russian GP served up a little bit of everything over the course of the weekend. A changing condition qualifying, scintillating strategy battles and to top it all off a smattering of rain to end the weekend. We couldn’t have asked for much more. So without further ado let’s jump into The F1 Clan’s race review. Norris, Sainz, Russel Who would have placed a bet on that top three before the weekend started? During free practice, the two silver arrows looked dominant ..read more

2021 Italian Grand Prix Review

Just as I thought the 2021 season was beginning to calm down, the Mclaren drivers finish P1 and P2 and Hamilton and Verstappen crash…..again. After a non-existent Belgian Grand Prix, and a relatively uninteresting Dutch Grand Prix, the headline triple header looked as if it were going to fall far short of expectations. However, the Temple of Speed had other ideas! Let’s have a look at the 2021 Italian Grand Prix.  Sprint Race Championships as tight as this one are often decided by the smallest of mistakes. Hamilton potentially made that mistake at the start of the Sprint Race. Merc ..read more

2021 Dutch Grand Prix Review

Smoke? Yes! Flares? Yes! Noise? Yes! Racing. No. The 2021 Dutch Grand Prix was…..disappointing. When the Dutch Grand Prix was announced, I wasn’t particularly excited to hear that it would be hosted at Zandvoort. Zandvoort is a fantastic track with a lovely mix of fast, flowing corners and slow turns that require excellent throttle control. However, it just isn’t suited to modern Formula One, even with the latest modifications. When the most exciting part of the weekend is the fans, something is definitely wrong. Qualifying Qualifying, as is often the case at tracks like Zandvoort where ..read more

2021 Belgian Grand Prix Review

Or should we say 2021 Belgian “Grand Prix” Review…. There are a lot of things that Michael Masi and the FIA can control but sadly the weather is not one of them. Leading up to the race at Spa F1 fans were frothing at the mouth as rain was forecast across the race weekend. However, after the race ended up as a 2 lap F1 safety car train I cant see F1 fans doing any rain dances any time soon. Nevertheless, we still managed to get some action over the weekend so let’s jump into what is a rather short (and hopefully still interesting) race review! Geooooorrrgeeeee!! What a weekend for George Russe ..read more

2021 Hungarian Grand Prix Review

I once wrote a statistics exam in which the only thing I knew for sure was what the absolute value of ‘x’ is. I was less confused during that exam than I was during the restart after the red flag! When I eventually figured it out, I couldn’t shake the feeling that the rest of the race would be epic. The field had been randomised and two wounded championship rivals were at the back of the pack. I spent the next two hours with a massive grin on my face and found myself shouting and fist pumping the air as Ocon crossed the line in P1. Let’s have a look at the 2021 Hunagrian Grand Prix! 2021 British Grand Prix Review
The F1 Clan

The home of Grand Prix racing never seems to disappoint. Constant action throughout, a smattering of drama and in our opinion, the best race of the season thus far. The British Grand Prix was a weekend of divided opinions. Fueled by the controversial contact between Hamilton and Verstappen we saw team principles, drivers and F1 fans divided. On top of that, we were treated to a new race weekend format that provided fans with action all weekend long. So, without further ado, let’s jump into the race review. The Incident Max Verstappen (NLD) Red Bull Racing RB16B and Lewis Hamilton (GBR) Merced ..read more

2021 Austrian Grand Prix Review

Norris on the podium, Verstappen wins and wheel to wheel action. That’s a list that might make you think the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix is one to remember. Somehow, however, it just isn’t. Maybe I have been spoiled by this year’s action so far but Sunday’s race didn’t have me grinning ear to ear as I have been in the past. Nevertheless, there is plenty to discuss. Let’s dive in! "Such a Great Driver Lando" Lewis Hamilton tends to say things that aren’t necessarily entirely correct (“Bono, my tires are gone!”, “I don’t think about the points.”). In this case, however, he was undoubtedly ri ..read more

2021 Styrian Grand Prix Review
The F1 Clan

2021 seems to be the season of opposites. Mercedes are chasing Red Bull’s tail, Paul Ricard was a fantastic race, and Austria was terrible. From a track that delivered last lap overtakes, and great wheel to wheel action in 2020, F1 fans around the world were left underwhelmed after F1’s return to the Red Bull ring in 2021. There was little to no action throughout the GP and looking back it is difficult to pick more than one moment that had us on the edge of our seats. A change of the guard? Despite turning out to be a rather tedious affair, the Styrian GP did show us one thing and that is th ..read more
