Does anyone have any recommendations for tripods or mounts for holding a smartphone when filming on trains? Ideally, I would not have to hold onto the camera whilst it records the scenery from the window and the camera would remain secure when the train goes over a set of points. I usually point the camera at an angle towards the window. Hi folks - some advice please. A Belmond charter train from Edinburgh Waverley to Gleneagles was at platform 2 this afternoon. I started taking pix of the sunlight on the coaches when one of the train people told me that it was a private function and that I couldn’t take pictures - I was on the other side of the barrier and taking pictures of the coaches, no people - I said this and the guy reluctantly said ok. Hello everyone. I'm really quite new to the whole photography thing but I've been bus spotting for years and also have an interest in lorries. I saw a post on here recently about someone buying a Canon EOS 2000D DSLR camera and IS 18-55 lens and it inspired me to get one myself. I have a Sony DSC-HX200V camera that's quite a few years old now. Typically, the pictures taken using it have been about 800 KB - 1.1 MB. Recently, inadvertantly, I ended up in the settings menu, and getting back out of that I seem to have changed something. Pictures taken now are enormous: 4.5 to 8MB.
