Iff enlarger timer

Hallo, I bought on eBuy an used enlarger timer as the one I have isn't counting the same exposure time repeatedly anymore, after nearly 30 years of service. I found an INDUSTRIA FOTOTECNICA FIRENZE ST200 TIMER which looked in rather good shape, and was renown for good stability and therefore used in professional colour printing labs. But there is no documentation coming with it nor a wiring diagram. May I ask if there is somebody who can share a copy please? Thank you ..read more

Who can do a Copal Shutter CLA in 2024?

There are old threads on CLAs. I'd like to ask folks here for current repair shops they've recently used still open and doing good work. I keep getting referred to and I’ve been trying for over a year and a half to contact Precision Camera Works for a Copal shutter CLA. My messages to them have continuously gone ignored and unanswered the entire time. Similarly for two years I’ve been trying to reach them about working on a Mamiya RZ lens to the same result. I give up. The Mamiya aside, I have a Copal shutter that is sluggish, sticking and needing a CLA. Lubricants have dried and gotten gumm ..read more

1930s Notch code ID

I am wondering if someone can identify these notch codes 1933. I'm curious about the film speed (for an article I'm writing). I am not at liberty to share the contact sheet images, made in California. The negs (4 altogether) appear to be 4x5 contacted on 9x12 paper, from the image I have of the contact sheet, unless they are smaller size on an 8x10. They were made with a Graflex, probably Super D. The left image shows the wave distortion at top, and I wonder if this could be from using a filmpack. The same image has, at bottom left, a perhaps 1/2" tall sliver of the left rebate intruding a co ..read more

How does barrel lens shutter placement affect the image?
Large Format Photography Forum

Last night I ordered a packard shutter for my barrel lens. Researching different fashions of mounting the packard shutter, I found a post that described how mounting the shutter on the front of the lens or the back of the lens actually impacts the incoming image differently. Specifically, if the shutter is placed behind the lens, the image has already been formed while passing through the lens before it reaches the shutter. So, effectively, as the shutter opens and closes it simply reveals the image to the film plane. On the other hand, if the shutter is placed in front of the lens, it impac ..read more
