There are not too much OS dev drum on the web. After purchasing all the product line of jobo, I create this project to help every one get a drum out of a 3d printer. This drum is similar to jobo 2800 series but using the cup structure so it could be printed water sealed. You might need almost no extra material than filaments.
The drum is ready to use with a cpe/cpp/cpa lift or any plane you can roll it on. It takes only 130ml chemical to dev 4x 4x5 color sheet film or 200ml for B&W.
I've tested it with E6, D76, D67. STEP files are p ..read more

Most the plates I've shot I've burnished prior to varnishing. Just a piece of cotton wool polished over the dried and heated silver. Many plates I've had come up brilliant actual silver like stainless steel. A shame it gets lost to the varnish. It looks spectacular, similar to a daguerreotype.
Does anyone else burnish plates? Or have any other methods to bring out more brightness? Anyone used CRC?
Here's an 11x11 CGA from today pre-varnish. Not very fond of clear glass but it's all I had on hand.

You probably won't ever see this low of a price again on 5x7 Foma 400.
Sure, it's short-dated, but everything I bought has been fine.
Better grab it while it lasts! $65 for 50 sheets?

There's also Foma Fomapan 100 in 9x12cm for $30 per 50 sheets.

Do me a favor and buy it all up before I order more! My wallet can only take so much more abuse ..read more

I've never handled sheet film or opened a box of the stuff. Obviously, when handling 35 mm or 120 film, there's very little to watch out for.
To avoid doing something foolish that I haven't taken account of, is there any advice members could give about how to deal with sheet film? This is a 25-sheet box of 4x5 Shanghai Film. I will be using a changing bag. From a video I saw, I understand that this brand comes in a box consisting of an upper and lower box section only: no third section. One concern of course is putting everything back in the box and making sure it would be light tight when it ..read more

As you can see it come with bygone era film back...
I was wondering if plate holders come into some kind of standard, so I can buy from ebay some, or if I can get hold of some dimensions and start at least gather some materials...
(I know the shutter does not close all the way.-i hope I will resolve this- I ha ..read more

Hi, all. I hope this is alright to share, given that this resource can be accessed for free.
I run a resource that compiles and shares calls for entry for photographers every week. The list includes opportunities for exhibition, grants, residencies, fellowships, and more. It is called The Open Call List, and I share the updated list of upcoming opportunities every Monday. Subscribers (and, again, subscribing is free or pay-what-you-can) have the list emailed directly to them.
I thought this resource could be helpful to those on here who look for and submit to such opportunities. I know many ..read more

If I replace a current Copal shutter with a new one .... will the lens elements be calibrated properly so long as I use the same shims? The particular lens is a Rodenstock 180 mm macro and it appears to have two shims behind the front element group. Or are the lens and shutter a unique pair? Thanks. Kate ..read more

I have been using Pyrocat-Metol for a couple of years now with fairly predictable results. But recently I pulled a pair of FP4 negatives from the SP445 tank that looked under developed but still had detail. When I printed one of the images it had areas of dullness and sharpness. When I examined the negative more closely it appeared the stain was merely floating on top of the image. I washed it again but it just got worse. I threw it in the fixer tray for 10 minutes and there the stain got soft again and I was able to remove it under running water. The resulting negative still has some stain bu ..read more
