I have a long narrow border which is full of daffs, this year I want to give it a good clear out so I want to dig out all the bulbs and replant them again later. Should I wait until September, when I would normally plant spring bulbs, or can I lift them once the foliage has died down? If I do the latter, how should I store the bulbs ..read more

Hi Peeps I have some seedlings on an east facing windowsill. Toms: Cherry & some type of beefsteak. Some bell peppers, small cucumbers and runner beans. Would the low evening temperatures shock them too much? All advice appreciated ..read more

As it’s a bit dark green with the foliage around, the white blooms on the... Ideas for West-facing area in dappled shade ..read more

I wondered why there was no bird on the feeders today, then I saw why, a sparrowhawk eating its lunch in my back garden. They're very beautiful and awesome at manoeuvring and all that, but I wish they wouldn't eat 'my' birds and leave bits for me to clear up ..read more
