Former Everton chief Keith Wyness believes the Leeds United lawsuit against Everton will collapse as the case is not strong enough.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – said he is worried that the lawsuit will set a bad precedent.
The Yorkshire club, alongside Burnley and Leicester City, informed Everton that they intend to sue for £300million (£100m each) if the Merseyside club was found guilty of breaching financial rules.

Burnley chiefs blame their lacklustre signings on their expected relegation – not Vincent Kompany, sources have told Football Insider.
The Clarets reportedly spent over £90million last summer on new recruits in their attempts to remain in the Premier League.

Vincent Kompany is set to stay at Burnley even if the club are relegated from the Premier League, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed that the club’s board are disappointed with how their return to the top flight has panned out under the Man City legend, but he has enough credit in the bank to be kept on.

Liverpool supporters on social media were left fuming at Luis Diaz for his display in the 3-1 win over Burnley on Saturday afternoon (10 February).

Sunderland are in talks with Burnley over a late move for winger Manuel Benson, sources have told Football Insider.
The Black Cats are looking to complete a deal for the 26-year-old winger after talks with Leeds United and Southampton fell through.
The two Championship sides struck agreements to sign Benson this month, but both deals collapsed late on.

Burnley defender Dan Sassi undergoing a medical at Blackpool ahead of a permanent move to Bloomfield Road, sources have told Football Insider.
The 20-year-old, who joined Burnley from Stoke in 2020, is being allowed to move on as he is well down the pecking order at Turf Moor.

Burnley and Hull City have made official approaches to Millwall for midfield starlet Romain Esse, sources have told Football Insider.
The 18-year-old made his breakthrough at the New Den last season and is now attracting interest in the Premier League and Championship.

Southampton have won the race against Leeds United to sign Burnley forward Manuel Benson this month, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking to the new edition of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Saints are edging closer to a full agreement with the Clarets to take the 26-year-old on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
