On Saturday it will be 10 years since the great day when LFC threw away the league in spectacular fashion. For those of you too young to remember, here is a timeline of one of the best things to ever happen in football. In the 2014 season, LFC had not won the league for 24 years. Liverpool beat City 3-2, which effectively ended City's title hopes. Anfield was ecstatic. For some reason the media loved the LFC captain Stevie G and it was widely felt he deserved to win a league title with his... Happy Slippy G. Day - 10th Anniversary ..read more

Has anyone been following this series? I have to say, it’s one of the best footballing channels online in my opinion. Neville is absolutely nailing the role as interviewer and the interviewees have been fantastic to date as well: Roy Keane, Tyson Fury, Jamie Carragher, Frank Lampard and Alan Shearer are amongst those whom I’ve really enjoyed thus far. I’m really looking forward to seeing where he takes this as it has amazing potential and is already doing very well with subscriber numbers... Where has this dearth of top quality managers come from, and how long will it last?

At with the old, in with the new… but this cycle is narrower than ever; Xabi Alonso and Thiago Motta appear to be the only ones generating the kind of storm that leads one to believe they could go on to peer the dying embers of the last cycle, but if like is for like, we’re missing several coaches of great potential to grab the baton off those they’re su to replace. Pep and Klopp as well as Ancelotti are snatching up so much shine because the usual 8-10 that sat at the top table has... Trophies + chaos or trusting the process? AKA Tuchel & Conte vs Poch & Lampard? (all 4 are available this summer)

Which is better: always looking for the next big thing and only hiring managers for the long term, or is it best to hire managers for the short term? It would be lazy to think of Real Madrid, because of who they are, but even in their case, where success may seem independent of coaches, it really isn't. Of their last 15 coaches, only 3 reached the CL semifinals (Mourinho, Ancelotti, and Zidane), and only the latter two actually won the CL, both doing it more than once. It's not a...
