CHICAGO (CBS)– Cook County is reopening its COVID-19 mass vaccination clinic in Matteson Thursday, the second site to open this week. The site in Matteson, at 4647 Promenade Way.  The site at 1155 E. Oakton St. in Des Plaines will open on Saturday. A site at 7630 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Forest Park opened Tuesday. The clinics will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you want to get a shot at one of the three mass vaccination sites in Cook County, appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are allowed. Illinois State Police said at 8:18 p.m., they were called for a shooting on the eastbound Eisenhower at Des Plaines Avenue. The driver of the crashed vehicle had been shot, and was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, state police said. CHICAGO (CBS) — The Illinois Department of Public Health is teaming up with other partners in the Forest Park School District to help get more younger kids vaccinated. The district set aside Monday as a no class day, so students, parents and guardians can get vaccinated.  Two clinics are giving COVID shots at different schools. The district worked to make the environment festive with superheroes and some giveaways as a little extra incentive. FOREST PARK, Ill. (CBS) — One person was shot and wounded in broad daylight Thursday on the Eisenhower Expressway. The shooting happened at 2:30 p.m. on the eastbound Eisenhower between Des Plaines and Harlem avenues. Illinois State Police said one person was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Inbound lanes were shut down at 17th Avenue in Maywood. State Police said they have responded to 205 expressway shootings on Cook County expressways this year.
