If God doesn’t show you the full picture of your life, if all He gives you are breadcrumbs along the way, will that be enough? Yeah, you may have to experience difficult seasons before purpose begins to take shape. Yeah, you may have to, in full faith, do the thing that ultimately doesn’t make sense. Yeah, you may have to wait a while. But when it comes to living an authentic faith, you must decide that regardless… He will always be worth it. Highlights from Today's Episode

We all have a shame narrative. Our shame story comes before we even realize what it is – when we are toddlers just learning how to navigate life. As we grow it becomes embedded in us because of the stories we hear and the stories we tell. And as adults, the degree to which we struggle to flourish is related to the degree in which we are not explicitly addressing those parts of our story where shame still exists. I reached out to Dr. Curt Thompson to discuss what it looks like to find freedom from the shame narrative we may or may not even realize we’ve been telling ourselves. Dr. Thompso ..read more

In this episode I discuss the importance of writing your dreams down, making small deposits into that dream, and in the meantime, doing what you can with what you already have. Documenting your desires helps you remember, focus, and stay grateful. You must invest in those desires, and this requires discipline. Don’t be overwhelmed, though. You just have to start somewhere. The opportunity is right in front of you: Do what you can with what you have. Join me as I discuss how to prepare for and invest in what is to come. Highlights from Today's Episode

Everyone has a story worth telling; however, it’s not always easy to share your personal story, especially when it is painful and filled with suffering and guilt. But no matter how difficult the story is, sometimes it is just THE TIME to share your story. In this episode, I’m chatting with Beth Moore about her new book, “All My Knotted Up Life: A Memoir” which is now available. In this book, Beth courageously opens up about the good, the bad, and the ugly details of her life. Her memoir is an authentic and honest description of how, by the grace of God, she was able to come to the point ..read more

In this season, I have found myself hitting up a wall and having to face some tough questions. Am I supposed to keep going? Is what I’m doing what I’m actually called to do? Do I burn it all down? Thankfully, I have wise friends around me and one of them, while graciously holding space for my questions, asked if burning it all down would be fulfilling God’s calling on my life. She invited me to explore my need to let go of some old ways of doing things to make room for the new levels God wants to take me to. And so far, this year has been all about making room and letting things go. I feel the ..read more

What would happen in your life if your love for people moved you towards listening? What if listening led you toward positive changes in yourself, in your existing relationships, or in our culture? What if listening helped you connect God's love for people with your ability to love others well? There are many voices out there, and we need all of them, but as you will soon discover, Faitth Brook's voice is necessary. What she says, how she says it, and her commitment to listening to others adds so much to the conversation on faith and race. Highlights from Today's Episode

There is a real challenge with doing new things. Why? Because new things require work. It takes time to adopt new habits, to invest in new relationships, and to pursue new dreams. However, to make the best of each season we are in, we have to choose to do a new thing. Rarely do we consider the impact that perception and posture have on our ability to engage in new experiences or create new experiences altogether. What new thing is your life calling you to? When approached in fresh ways, even your daily rhythms can create anticipation for what God may want to do next. Highlights from Toda ..read more

Marshawn Evans Daniels and I sit down for a conversation about what it looks like to give yourself the grace you need in order to allow God's grace to fill the space you cannot fill. We all can get caught in the little things of our life. Striving to achieve perfection. And waiting on God to do something new. But, when we abide in God’s shadow we are always connected to the new thing he desires to do. Today we are talking about what it looks like to build out of the vision of what God says he will do. Stress is real. If both striving and stretching require effort and energy, how do you know the difference between the good kind of exertion in life and the not-so-good exertion? Both are hard work. Both create similar stress. Both require doing something new. How do you know if you are pushing yourself too hard or if you just need to be stretched to move the needle in your life? In today’s podcast, I walk you through how you can know if you are in a season of striving or stretching. I do believe you can know the difference! I also believe you need to be intentional about setting yourself up to ..read more
