EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that an English midfielder wanted by Brentford, West Ham United and Wolves is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League and particularly Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq.
Since moving to the Saudi Pro League, following a spell as manager of Aston Villa, former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has been managing Middle Eastern side Al-Ettifaq.
Gerrard brought with him former Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson but the Englishman has since moved to Ajax, back in January.
The Al-Ettifaq boss was understood to be disappointed to lose former Englan ..read more

Rangers have a big summer ahead of them as they look to amend last season’s mistakes and beat arch-rivals Celtic to league glory.
Philippe Clement replaced Michael Beale as Rangers boss last October and he led the Glasgow giants on a title charge.
They closed the gap to Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table but fell just short of winning the league in the final few weeks.
However, a new season is on the horizon and their second-placed league finish last season means they must pass through the play-off qualifiers to reach the 2024-25 Champions League.

While few Wolves fans would consider the sale of Max Kilman to West Ham United to be ‘good news’, it is true that every cloud has a silver signing.
And, for Gary O’Neil’s Wolverhampton Wanderers, the upside to selling their captain in a £40 million deal is that the Molineux outfit are no longer under any pressure to sell their other key players.
HITC understands that Wolves are now operating from a position of financial strength should offers arrive for rampaging left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri and £60 million-rated winger Pedro Neto.
And while there has been no shortage of enquiries for midfield ma ..read more

One of the rising talents of the Premier League seems to be developing quite the habit of frustrating Tottenham Hotspur.
It is only a few months, after all, since he hit a brace to stun Ange Postecoglou’s side on their own soil, knocking Spurs out of the top-four along the way as the London giants ended up falling short of the Champions League spots.
Six months later, any attempts to bring Joao Gomes back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium look destined to end up disappointment too.
HITC understands that Tottenham are one of five Premier League clubs to have launched an enquiry about the availab ..read more

Neither Joao Gomes nor Wolves are in any rush to pursue a transfer despite interest from Premier League rivals Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Manchester United in the Brazilian.
While Wolverhampton Wanderers allowed captain Max Kilman to secure a £40 million move to West Ham United last week, the Molineux outfit currently have no plans to let another of their star men follow the defender out the door.
Wolves are under no immediate pressure to cash in on Joao Gomes. The same can be said for left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri or the £60 million-rated winger Ped ..read more

Former West Ham United defender Anton Ferdinand has reacted as the Hammers have confirmed the signing of Wolves defender Max Kilman.
Since breaking into the Wolves first team under Nuno Espirito Santo, English defender Max Kilman has been one of the most reliable faces for the Black Country side.
Last season, under former Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil, Kilman proved to be a crucial performer with the Englishman being praised by his manager consistently for his ability on the ball.
However, Wolves have lost the Englishman to West Ham United with HITC reporting that a £40 million offer lodged ..read more

Premier League sides Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Chelsea are in the mix for Strahinja Pavlovic as Brentford hold talks with the £25 million-rated Red Bull Salzburg defender.
A Salzburg side who sold the likes of Erling Haaland, Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino, Benjamin Sesko and Dominik Szoboszlai for huge profits in recent windows could be in line for another big windfall.
HITC understands that Strahinja Pavlovic, a £6 million signing from Monaco in the summer of 2022, could depart the Austrian giants for a substantially larger fee over the coming months.

This is not an easy time to be leading a football club. Certainly not financially speaking.
Just ask Gary O’Neil, the Wolverhampton Wanderers boss who could not even tie up a loan deal for Chelsea striker Armando Broja during the January transfer window for fear of incurring a 10-point deduction for breaching Profit and Sustainability Rules.
“We couldn’t afford to go to where other clubs were able to go to without putting ourselves at risk,” O’Neil sighed, via the Daily Mail. “It’s the position the club’s in. The position they told me they were in when they spoke to me.
