Authorities are investigating a shooting incident near a Westchester shopping plaza.  The incident happened on Thursday, May 2 just after 12:45 p.m., when shots were fired in front of 137 South 4th Ave. in Mount Vernon near the Bogopa Plaza, according to city officials. Two New York residents are accused of conning a medical supply company out of millions of dollars in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Long Island resident Jonathan Cannon, age 58, of Miller Place, and Erie County resident Julie Dotton, age 51, of Orchard Park, are both charged with wire fraud in a complaint unsealed in Central Islip federal court on Thursday, May 2. A busy stretch of a main route in Northern Westchester will temporarily close to traffic over several days, officials announced. US Route 6/202 (Bear Mountain Bridge Road) between Route 9D and Route 9 in Cortlandt will close nightly beginning on Monday, May 6 through Wednesday, May 8, the New York State Department of Transportation announced. Two people face a long list of charges after they were caught with a stolen gun, cocaine, ecstasy, and other drugs inside a hidden compartment in their vehicle in Westchester, police said.
