In the past we'd always taken the I-4 (which I _hated_ when pulling a trailer). In 2019, on the suggestion of some folks on this board we took the I-95 -> 407 -> 528 -> 417 route which was much quieter and less stressful. Is this still the best way to go with a trailer (i.e. quieter traffic-wise) or has the I-4 magically improved in the past five years? Looking for advice for an upcoming trip. TIA ..read more

Hey there all!
Quick question, we're looking to stay at FW with my two kids, who will be 3 and 6.5 at the time.
Husband and I are kind of torn on whether or not we look into renting a cabin, or perhaps spring for an RV rental for the week? The cabins are BRUTAL, price-wise, and we actually have experience (sort of) with RVs...but part of me thinks that having a cabin would be so, so cool!
What would you all do? Any reason to do one over the other, with young(ish) kids in tow...

I had to take my mother to a doctor's appointment in Lakeland today, so I thought we would stop by the Lakeland Antique Mall.
They have a lot of Disney stuff there, from ride vehicles to resort furnishings, vinyl albums to clothes and everything in between.
It's not just Disney stuff though, there is so much stuff. We were there 2 hours and just walked the edges of the store, we didn't make it into all of the middle aisles.
I found some holiday garlands and wreaths which were used to...

So after avoiding Hurricane Debby, delivering my son to school in Melbourne, and then a trip to KSC for my younger son (Aug 7-14), we drove over for a 3 night stay at FW While I visit every time we are there, it is only my second time staying ( as an adult in my own camper)... my first time being in 2014 after buying our first camper. Needless to say, I was excited to get back!
We pulled out of the county campground in Melbourne (where we had stayed for 6 nights while getting son...

We are booked and coming back in November after 5 and half years! I am so excited. When I suggested renting a golf cart months ago, my dH wasn't that excited about the idea. Fast forward to this week and he just upgraded our tow vehicle from a 1500 with a 6 ft bed to a 3500 diesel with an 8 ft bed and he is strongly encouraging me to find a used golf cart we could purchase and bring down. We pull a hybrid trailer so the golf cart would be riding the bed of the pick up. So folks who own...

For those of you/us who bring a mini fridge to the Fort for outside (in dining shelter or under canopy that is):
- Do you just put it on the table? Elevated? How?
- Or a stand for it? anything very small and compact and lightweight?
Nov 2023, we picked up larger mini fridge (lol) and just laid it on top of the picnic table …. And more than once we forgot that there was a plate or drink in front of it before opening the fridge!
Nov 2024, I’ll look for a smaller cube fridge, $30-40, on...

So we have been RVing to the Fort since 2004! I love rving for many reason but one of the main ones is being able to cook your own meals. My husband this year was diagnosed with heart failure and now we must really watch sodium. For the very first time ever we have an entire month booked in 2025!
I started thinking, how can we make things easier for both of us and it crossed my mind what if I signed up for green chef or one of the more healthier meal delivery boxes? Even hello fresh...

Hi all. We were there for Halloween last year, missed the booking for this year, and are booked for 2025. I know we will be able to pick up cancellations last minute, but does anyone have an opinion on going the weekend before? Is it crazier on the weekends? If you had to choose between the weekend before or actual Halloween, what would be your preference and why? We usually go for 3-4 nights, 2 hours away so we can easily book even the day before.
