Greetings – we are back.
The 2024 Congress (20th Anniversary) will take place 11-13 October at the Chaplaincy Centre, University of Dundee. Full details are now on our website – dundeecongress.co.uk

We are repeating the format of last year with identical 1st – 3rd place prizes across the tournaments and the same entry fee. Numbers were well down last year so, unfortunately, we have to increase entry fees to £30 for all tournaments. Sunday 21st, yes this Sunday is last round of SNCL for this season. PLEASE remember to bring all trophies and the Giant Killer shield.
Any matters for the AGM must be lodged with me before the last round begins. At present we will be discussing Fees for next year, format of the event and dates for next season.
Personally I am happy with the nine round FIDE event but the extra day and increase in Scottish grading fees plus expense of FIDE grading fees means I have to ask for a rise in team entry fee. It has stood at £100 for many years now but we are now seriously eating into our funds. Where ..read more

A proper weekend congress later this month on the 22nd to 24th of March at the Edinburgh park Hotel with a Saturday night Blitz shoehorned in.
70 places were available with 41 left in the congress's 3 sections and 65 in the Blitz, enter the Blitz on a separately.

Just a quick note as I have no more details other than I have received a call from a friend of Martin's telling me he had passed away.
He had been at Cathcart for the last couple of seasons but had been previously been around the Lanarkshire Chess scene for quite a number of years and I am told he also played at Uddingston Grammar school.
