Is the Cosmos a Computer?
First Cause

The cosmos being a computer sounds to me like a convenient way of explaining how things work based on our current knowledge about how information works. But what if we are right and the cosmos is a computer program? This would mean that all things that exist in the physical universe is in essence the computational process of the cosmos generating itself. Does that make sense? https://youtu.be/20dDZB1bOzI I would agree that everything is derived from an underlying ultimate reality that is the initial singularity (with zero entropy), but surely this First Cause is a natural phenomenon unfolding ..read more

Does Consciousness Lead to God?
First Cause

Why does the hardest problem in science, the mystery of consciousness, lead some to the existence of God – and others only to processes of the brain? https://youtu.be/-tXs-gN-xZk If the ultimate First Cause is the polar opposite to absolute nothingness (the "initial singularity" before the Big Bang) then to ascend out of nothingness surely we can only talk in terms of mechanical dead matter. But to descend from the infinite side maybe we need to talk in terms of an evolving universal self-knowingness. The infinite side cannot be more than infinite...so maybe all it can do is self-behold evolvi ..read more

Does God Exist?
First Cause

Richard Dawkins and Brian Greene discuss their thoughts and ideas about God in the context of science and evolution. https://youtu.be/SK48AsRIMM8 The deepest question will always be; what is the space-time singularity, or the source of the Big Bang? This is where physics breaks down, but until we can answer that question and deal with "The Infinite" side of nature we will always be stumbling in the dark. We are submerged in a medium we cannot see beyond that is somewhere between an infinite positive (The Infinite) relative to an infinite negative (absolute nothingness). I would argue that the ..read more

Why is there something rather than nothing?

Why do we exist? Why is there something rather than nothing? Why are we even here at all. We know a lot about the “how” and the “What” of our existence, but we don’t know much about the “why” of our existence…yet it may be the most important question of all. Maybe even the most important question in the Universe. https://youtu.be/vmCAfCJOVbI I would argue that there are two polar opposites; an infinite negative (nothingness) and an infinite positive (singularity). Both sides are absolute, and so stable, but with an unstable medium we call the Universe (this unstableness being energy, or the Un ..read more

Do we need God to make sense of life?

Jordan Peterson debates the psychology of religious belief with atheist academic Susan Blackmore. https://youtu.be/syP-OtdCIho I wish academics would use their intelligence to simplify things rather than convolute them. All the arguments about religious text always seem to over complicate things for me. In the light of modern knowledge we're clearly in desperate need of a big update to religion. I wish we could instead argue about the First Cause of the Universe in simpler terms that takes scientific insights into account. I understand the profound meaning we can draw from religion but if it's ..read more

The Universe: How did it get here & why are we part of it?
First Cause

Celebrated mathematical physicist Sir Roger Penrose talks to renowned Christian philosopher William Lane Craig about God and the Universe. Could the fundamental nature of reality, the Big Bang, and the fine tuning of the Universe point towards a creator God? https://youtu.be/9wLtCqm72-Y Even if there is an evolution of constants and an infinite number of alternative universes and realities, the First Cause is still infinite. Infinity cannot have a beginning or an end otherwise it would not be infinite. And even if there are an infinite succession of aeons we are still talking in terms of "The ..read more

What's the point if there's no God?
First Cause

This big debate is argued by a selection of esteemed guest speakers and experts in their field regarding whether there is any point to the universe if there is no God. I believe you don't need the traditional views about God to explain the ultimate First Cause. https://youtu.be/J2CAAf2CmOg Although we don't necessarily need to describe the source from which the big bang emerged (i.e. the absolute order before entropy) as a personal God, we do need to make some sense of this original source. And whichever way we look at it, this First Cause (or space-time singularity) is infinite. So, in light ..read more

NOTHING: The Science of Emptiness

Why is there something rather than nothing? And what does ‘nothing’ really mean? Understanding nothingness may be the key to unlocking the deepest mystery of the universe...why does anything exist at all. I reaffirm my philosophy below the video. https://youtu.be/BCUmeE8sIVo If we imagine all reality as a balance between two polar opposite sides to nature – absolute nothingness and absolute infiniteness – then it all make sense. Just as you cannot define the nothingness side as it is always less than anything, equally, you cannot define the infinite side as it is always more than anything. Ima ..read more

Rational arguments for, and against, the existence of a Supreme Creator. https://youtu.be/iuEGHA_caF0 In the final analysis the First Cause must be infinite. A good description, in my view, is to imagine an infinitely spiralling vortex between infinity and nothingness. You will never find a start or end point to this vortex as it is spiralling infinitely inward and infinitely outward. One side has no beginning, the other no end, but there is always an in-between...a medium for the two polar opposite sides. The reason it is a vortex is because beyond space and time the only medium possible betw ..read more

God VS Atheism

Ricky Gervais & Russell Brand talk about God and atheism. I give my opinion below the video. https://youtu.be/5Szj5jJeUec I think there is infinite meaning to life and the universe. "The absolute" that Russell talks about and "quantum physics" that Ricky talks about can both be understandable in my view if you imagine a positive and negative side behind the First Cause (plus and minus, the plus being the absolute, or infinite side, and the minus being absolute nothingness, or negative side). The positive side is rising up, or emerging out of the negative nothingness side as the energy fluc ..read more
