The Macon Bacon, in conjunction with the Lexington County Blowfish and Savannah Bananas, all three in the Coastal Plain League, today announced the 2020 Southern Summer Ball Series between the three teams as part of the league’s adjusted schedule.  Although the 2020 Coastal Plain League regular season schedule has been delayed and adjusted because of governmental COVID-19 restrictions, the Blowfish, Bacon and Bananas are able to move forward with a 42-50 game schedule. The streaming giant announced a new limited series titled “Colin in Black & White,” from Ava DuVernay, based on Kaepernick’s high school years. Kaepernick will appear in the series and add his own voice to the project. SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State football has filled its September 5, 2020 open date with a non-conference road game against NCAA Division II powerhouse Valdosta State, the administration announced. The Tigers released the 2020 schedule in May, marking the program’s 118th year of competition. Savannah State football first played on Thanksgiving Day, 1902. Zaquan Baldwin and Brelan Holston earned Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, while Fort Valley State placed 71 Wildcats on the record-high 1,355 SIAC honorees on the 2019-20 SIAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team. Baldwin and Holston garnered places on the All-Academic Teams for football and men’s basketball.
