Loudoun County will host an online meeting to gain input from the public on a proposed W&OD Trail bridge over Sterling Boulevard on March 23 from 6-7 p.m. Members of the public are invited to join the virtual meeting to learn, ask questions and provide input about the project. Renovated Sterling Community Center Opens

Loudoun County leaders celebrated the grand opening of the long-awaited Sterling Community Center renovation Saturday at 120 Enterprise Street. The ribbon cutting ceremony was followed by an open house with tours, demonstrations, and entertainment. Normal hours of operation began Monday, March 7. The Sterling Community Center has been serving the community since 1975. In 2014, voters approved general obligation bonds to finance renovations to the 18,200-square-foot facility. The opening of a new Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Customer Service Center in Sterling was marked with a ribbon cutting Tuesday. The new Sterling DMV actually has been open since October, but the ribbon cutting was delayed by COVID-19 concerns, said DMV Commissioner Rich Holcomb. The Sterling Foundation on Wednesday cut the ribbon on its latest project, new entrance gateway signs to Sterling Park. Supervisor Koran T. Saines (D-Sterling) is pushing to rename a spot near Claude Moore Park long known as “Negro Hill,” to instead honor one of the area’s most prominent black farm families. The small rise, charted and named by the U.S. Geological Service, is just south of the Cascades Parkway interchange with Rt. 7.
