Well, I've always heard about these unicorn deals for little money and basically new condition bikes. Finally found one. 2012 Vstar1300 with 1200 miles. I kid you not. Guy I know had bought it new and then life happened and he brought it out a few times for short rides and then kept it in his garage. Got it for $4k! Everything is pristine and new tires. Checked everything over but was so excited and mesmerized by the find, I neglected to look in one key spot. Got home and opened the gas tank...

So first off I’ve searched the form and tried to find multiple pieces of advice to help me but not had any luck. I have a 2002 V star 1100 with K&n pod filters, a sigma jet kit, wide-open exhaust. Had the carbs synced and was told they were synced by a shop. Installed the jets and the pod filters and then did the soup came mod on my pod filters to help with airflow. Spark plugs are a light brown but definitely think should be a little more tan. When I get up to about 70% throttle and the...

I wan riding my bike one day and it just died. The engine started flashing and from what I understand the code is 34. It blinked 3 times slow and 4 times fast. I replaced the rear ignition coil and the bike ran fine for a few weeks and when I went to get on it. Bam same thing happened. Which also happened the first time. I bought another rear ignition coil and installed it and it is showing the same code 34. Am I missing something else that could be wrong. ( Besides ordering replacement...

Nice to meet everyone and thanks for the warm welcome and insights in my "What is unique about the R in XVS65AWR model?" thread!
Name is Andrew, Andy, A**hole, whatever starts with A. I'm a new rider, early 40s, and picked up a red 2007 V Star Silverado (XVS65AWR) for my first bike; we were fated as I've got a thing for reds. Right now, I'm looking to connect with other 650 riders as...

Generally speaking, cruisers are the most difficult motorcycles to ride well, with the big tourers based on cruisers being the hardest of the lot. At least that is my assertion (Admittedly, choppers are worse, but I want to discuss mass produced bikes here).
So why that claim? Because they are the heaviest bikes, the longest bikes, the slowest handling bikes and the least agile bikes. Most also have what I consider a dangerous lack of cornering clearance.
So how come they have the...

Hello First the specs of the bike. 2007 Silverado 27k miles. So right before the pandemic I had a brain fart and decided to put an "Air Spike" on my bike in leu of the stock breather. It rained and my dumb but tried to ride home and it would die every time I would give it some gas. I figured it was starved for air so I pulled off the spike and it ran enough for me to get home, only like a 5 minute ride. I put the stock back on and it ran okay for a few more weeks before it got to cold to...

I have a 2002 V Star 650 Custom. i need a new carburetor for it. I'm wondering if a 2004 carb would be able to be used on the 02 bike. i understand they are similar but the 04 has a sensor on the bowl that the 02 doesn't. Will this affect the performance at all ..read more
