Ive checked the stator as far as set on 200. It checks out at .3 on each wire. How do I set it to check to see if the stator is in the required ohms? What is the ohms requirement? The blue/black coming out by the starter shows nothing set on 200 ohms, and the red/green out of the back of the engine case shows nothing set at 200 ohms ..read more

Hey, I'm working on this ZN750A, no specific plan for it yet, but thought MAYBE I could convince the wife to ride it (she wants a Spyder, but they're so expensive). It's too big for her really, but she can reach the ground....I think right now though the deal-killer is that her hand isn't strong enough to pull the clutch in all the way. I removed the clutch cable and lubed it, even removed, cleaned and greased up the leaver. That all moves smooth and easy now, but it's still too hard for... Need direction on issue. Neighbors (rancher on gravel road) mule started blowing fuses. Replaced alt fuse & main disconnected the alternator, pulled 50 amp fuse, glow plow plug connector. Starts and runs, it revs up fine, put in gear it moves 10-15’ and blows the main fuse, replace it and it runs fine but travels only 15’ and blows fuse. Thanks for help ..read more

So now that I have the bike turning over, and have spark and compression, I am going to start looking for a carb rack for it. I know it's supposedly the 'same as a zn700 but with a bigger engine' but I'm curious if anyone can speak to compatibility? I've read that they are CV34's? Not sure what that means. Would it be reasonable to assume the carbs from a ZN700 or KZ750 4cyl would fix ny ZN750A? Hey all! I just bought a 1984 ZN750A for peanuts, it needs a carb body, but I'm going over the rest of the bike first to make sure it doesn't need anything else major before putting more money into it. I put a battery in it, and the neutral and oil lights come on when I turn the key to 'on', but nothing happens when I push start. Fiddling around, we did get it to work once, but then never again.
