Not been feeling that great recently, what I needed was some float fishing therapy. With reports of garfish and the odd mackerel I thought I would sully myself by fishing Worthing pier ? Arrived at 8.30 and the Shoreham facing deck of the pier was packed out with anglers waiting for a decent depth of water. Not wanting to fish with a mob I chose to fish on the other side of the pier. I ended up fishing Dunwich due to work delaying my early start, then bloody roadworks caused further delays. Fished the last hour of the flood and 4 hours down. Water was gin clear and flat, if it was warmer I would have regretted not taking my lure rod. 2 x rods, 1 with a one up one down set up baited with fresh lug, tipped with frozen black lug, the other a pulley pennel baited with mackerel/frozen black lug cocktails. 1 x just under sized Bass. 6 x whiting keepers for tea. 2 x spotty... Someone please console me, first session of the year and first bass hooked up. Result or so I thought, after putting a little to much tension on the fish and line my leader knot gave way and snapped (heart ache) So I come to you all looking for the ultimate fluro to braid knot and I intend to nail it, I'm sick to the teeth of losing a decent fish to my leader snapping Current set up in 22lb braid to 15lb fluro and I'm using the 'Alberto knot' So please someone tell me the real knot to... Hi guys, living over 2 hours from the coast my chances to sea fish are rare. The better half is proposing a few days away near Cromer towards the end of May. I will put my fishing gear in the car in case I get a few hours to drown some worms.
