Hit Fish Lake today. Perch bite was pretty hot until 2pm. Caught 11 that were between 9 and 10 inches rest were 5 to 8. Not too bad for Fish Lake. Quit counting at 50 perch guessing close to seventy. Only trout I caught was a 17-inch splake. Saw a couple trout type marks during the day. Unusual for the spot I was fishing as I catch anywhere from a dozen to two dozen bows a trip. They just weren't around. Ice was 8". I was fishing 15 to 18 feet deep. Only saw a handful of other groups fishing. No wind sunny temps in 20s to low thirties. Doesn't get much better for Fish Lake ..read more

Returned to the scene of the crime and yanked 'em once again at the dam today, fishing from 10am-noonish. Tried deeper this time, starting out at 54', then moving to 44', and finally 35'. Perch are everywhere and hitting everything, even biting a bare tungsten jighead. Drop down, bottom out, set the hook, reel up, rinse & repeat. Only a magician could have handled two rods. Still, nothing over 10". Packed up & drove down to that last restroom on the S end, walking out to see how those parties were doing ---ditto re: perch, tho some smaller ..read more

Well I had a really creative and hopefully legally protective post put together and the stupid site froze and then lost the post... So take two not so well put together post but here is the take on what we'd like to accomplish... I was asked if we could have one post where members could post the ice conditions they have seen in one area, so it's easy for all others to review and make decisions on where they might like to go fish... So here's the attempt... Again ice is never safe so we will post observations and let others use their risk management skills to decide if they want to try it... Th ..read more

Ran up this afternoon to see if any ice had started to form and it has, along the dam and west side. Looking toward the back there might be some way back there but not what we usually see.  ..read more

Fished middle of the dam face midday. What was 4" last Friday is now 5+. Entire rez capped with recent overnite single digit temps. Even where it was only 1" below that last restroom pull-out on the SW it is now 3+. In fact, there are two hockey rinks off that shoreline shoveled off and ready for play. Anyway, put in at 40' and started yanking 'em at every drop. Didn't even move spots. They hit everything I dropped down, from waxied tungsten jigs to unbaited rattle spoons. Once again, best all-around rig was a drop-shotted mosquito hook with ..read more

Fished causey for the first time this last weekend in the morning from about 830 to 1. Fished the middle finger straight out from the dam about halfway down it. 14 to 22 fow. Marked 2 fish and caught 1 small rainbow. Edges were really slushy but someone was kind enough to leave some planks. Middle was about 12 inches of ice.
After that I headed to pineview and it got pretty hot after about 430. Perch and crappie all just out from windsurfer Beach in 55 fow. It was crowded but the fish were still biting. Ice was alright 3 to 4 inches. It was pretty dead before about 430 though. Left just af ..read more

Took the family and went to Scofield for a fun family outing on Saturday. Mild snowstorms and not too cold. A fair amount of people but not overcrowded. Only caught 2 which seems to be average for the time of the year at that lake being it gets hard at first ice. Not a lot of other options for ice fishing, hope that changes soon ..read more
