Steering Solutions while trolling

So since I repowered with new 115, I am having issue with boat turning hard right when trolling off the kicker. Same set up as I had before with steering arm between both motors. The only things that have changed: *New 115 yamaha 4 stroke replaced old 90 2 stroke. *To accommodate size of new motor, kicker was moved over about 3 inches. *Steering is super slick since upgrade as everything is new. I have adjusted the trim fin on new main. Does not pull in either direction when running on... Read more ..read more

Anyone have any information on when the opal squid show up around Prince Rupert? I'm heading out in five weeks not planning on trying to catch them just want to know when they might be around. I've done really well on springs with a hammered chrome dodger and a green glow skirt ..read more

Windlass questions..

I made an impulse buy without any research on a Lewmar Profish 1000 windlass. After purchasing I came to realize the gypsy is oversized for my boat (skagit orca 24xlc). The gypsy requires 5/16" g4 chain and 9/16"-5/8th 3 strand rode. I'm looking to purchase a chain and rode for it but I'm wondering If prior it is worth downsizing my gypsy to accomadate 1/4" chain and 1/2"rode for capacity reasons? Or am I overthinking this? Also I'm aware of at least a boat length of chain but I'm curious... Read more ..read more

Bubba Blade knives review-my first impressions

Was pleasantly surprised to find some new knives I had ordered arrived while I was out of town fishing. I ordered 4 Bubba Blade knives. One 7" tapered flex, one 9" flex, one 9" stiff, and one 12" flex. Out of the package all 4 knives were razor sharp and easily shaved arm hair. I just processed some Tuna and out of these 4 knives the one most suited for the Tuna processing was the 7" tapered flex. It did an excellent job with the Tuna but keeping in mind there was no bone cutting with the... Read more ..read more

Well the time has come where we just don’t get out on the boat enough anymore, so it’s time to let it go. I purchased the boat in 2021 locally and have enjoyed many great days of local vancouver salmon fishing and many runs over to entrance for deep rooted springs. Im going to have the boat professionally detailed in the next week or two so it will be all ready for fishing this year. It’s currently drystacked at Milltown Marina. I’ll post some better pics post detail but attached are just... Read more ..read more

Fuse Holder Position

Recently I had an issue traced down to a fuse holder buried in the transom (was at the very back where the wires all go through that pass-through - since moved). I replaced the fuse holder and fuse and problems were solved. There are two other inline fuses here, both for the Scotties. There is one other one on the reverse side of that "divider" for the washdown pump. (Note: Yes I realize they are not secured in the photo. One just broke and the other I had detached in preparation for... Read more ..read more
