Queens Park Rangers Supporters’ Trust QPR1st would like to say thank you to Lee Hoos as he retires as Chief Executive Officer of the club. His stepping back is not a total surprise as one of his major objectives was to complete the build off the new training ground, had the club been more stable he may have moved on last summer. In the eight years Lee has been at the club he has been consistent in his aim to ensure the club is sustainable. We accept this has been a difficult job and that he’s done that with good grace and generally with respect. Lee has maintained good relationships with the f ..read more

Terry Venables R.I.P

QPR1st Supporters’ Trust mourns the loss of Terry Venables, an absolute giant in the history of QPR. A great coach, a great player, and almost an owner of the club. His arrival in 1969 heralded the second wave of the Jim Gregory years and the great team of the 70s. Although Gordon Jago was the manager, Venables undoubtedly had a huge influence on the development of that group of players and what they achieved. When he returned to the club as manager he built a skillful side that restored us to the First Division, qualified for Europe and, of course, took us to the FA Cup Final. It was a sad ..read more

QPR 1st Supporters’ Trust would like to thank the club for the excellent Fans Forum that was held on Monday night (18/9/23). The Trust has been asking for QPR’s owners to be more available to talk to fans and we are delighted that this was achieved. Ruben Gnanalingam and Amit Bhatia answered fans questions in a clear and straightforward manner. We finally got some insight into their reasons for supporting the club. We look forward to hearing from board members regularly in the future. The contributions from Lee Hoos, and Gareth Ainsworth were welcome as were contributions from Director of Perf ..read more

QPR1st, the QPR Supporters Trust, notes the announcement that former Chairman Tony Fernandes has stepped down from the board of the club. The Trust wishes to acknowledge Tony’s efforts and investments over his twelve years. His time at QPR was marked by a number of soaring highs and crushing lows, the highlight of which is winning the Championship playoff final in 2014. Debates will continue into the future giving a verdict on his overall impact. For now the immediate question is who picks up his minority shareholding (last reported as 26.8%). We look forward to the club clarifying the positio ..read more

Les Ferdinand Steps Down As DOF

QPR1st would like to place on record its thanks to Les Ferdinand for his efforts as Director of Football as he stands down after eight years in the role. The news does not come as a surprise to most fans. The success of Ferdinand’s tenure has been debatable, although he is clearly not solely responsible. The story of the 22-23 season highlights how long term planning on the footballing side has faltered. QPR’s dramatic fall over the season in the face of managerial turbulence is clearly not the fault of one person. We do give credit to Ferdinand for increasing diversity into the coaching setup ..read more

Critchley Departure

QPR 1st Supporters’ Trust accepts the necessity for the departure of Neil Critchley. Team performances and results were not what was expected from these players, and it became clear unless there was a dramatic improvement over the last two games then this decision by the club was likely. Neil Critchley was never able to select from a full squad due to injuries to key players. The substitutes bench at Middlesbrough featured players who had not appeared for the first team. Clearly the players have not been helped by the changes in management over the last year. It must be hard when coaches the ..read more
