Tottenham Hotspur FC, like many football clubs, has undergone its fair share of managerial changes and tactical experiments in the pursuit of success on the pitch. One of the more recent developments in their journey has been the adoption of Angeball, a style of play inspired by the coaching philosophy of Ange Postecoglou. This approach emphasizes high pressing, quick transitions, and attacking football. But has Angeball proven to be successful at Tottenham Hotspur FC? The Ideology of Angeball Ange Postecoglou, known for his successful stints with clubs like Brisbane Roar and the Australian na ..read more

Tottenham travelled to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City this past weekend, with a win for the North London outfit unthinkable as far as pundits were concerned. The game was live on Sky, and Spurs were being completely written off by the analysts in the studio, with some pretty scathing remarks about the side’s recent form and the player’s attitudes in general. admittedly, Antonio Conte’s men had come into the game with City off the back of a few disappointing results, but their league form under Conte had been excellent in previous months. The odds compilers around the world had Manc ..read more

Following Antonio Conte’s interview with Sky Italia, there has been a lot of commentary in the press with regard to the Tottenham manager’s commitment to the club and role as Spurs boss. While Conte has claimed that his comments were taken out of context, there must be some truth to the Italian’s discontent. Former Liverpool defender and current Sky pundit Jamie Carragher was recently asked for his take on Antonio Conte’s position at Spurs. Carragher told Sky Sports earlier this week, “There was great spirit shown at times the way they (Spurs) hung on and the way they defended. It wasn’t a fan ..read more

2022 has the potential to be a huge year for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. There has been huge unrest at Spurs since the sacking of long-time manager Mauricio Pochettino in November 2019. Three coaches have since been installed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but both José Mourinho and Nuno Espírito Santo were relieved of their duties following poor results. Having previously established themselves as Champions league regulars, Tottenham have once again dipped out of elite European competition. The past two seasons have seen Europa League and Europa Conference campaigns respectively, neither of which appear worthwhile endeavours for a club the size of Spurs particularly when you take the new stadium into consideration. I am sure they generate capital for the club, but ultimately these lesser competitions are just an unnecessary distraction from domestic trophies. Taking recent results into account, the current squad available to Antonio Conte as w ..read more

Hugo Lloris was recently quizzed by Tottenham Hotspur’s Twitch channel about who the leaders are within the Tottenham Hotspur dressing room. This is a very interesting question and one which as Spurs captain, Lloris is very well placed to answer. One of the criticisms levelled at Tottenham in recent years is a lack of leadership at the club as well as on the pitch. At times when all is not well with management or personnel, a commanding presence, particularly during games, can take all the difference. “It’s not only my responsibility,” he told Tottenham’s Twitch channel when asked ab ..read more

Although results for Tottenham Hotspur have been largely positive since the arrival of Antonio Conte as manager, back to back home defeats at the hands of both Southampton and Wolves have somewhat dented Champions League aspirations. Spurs had a number of games in hand on the teams around them due to postponements earlier in the season, and would have been expected to capitalise in the two aforementioned home games but that ultimately was not the case. The results in isolation are not the end of the world, but the fact that Tottenham appeared so fragile in defence in back to back games is a wo ..read more

Antonio Conte takes his Tottenham Hotspur side to Turf Moor this Wednesday evening to take on Sean Dyche’s resurgent Burnley. Although the Clarets are deep in the relegation mire as things stand currently, Burnley do have games in hand on the teams around them, this delayed fixture being one of those. The game was called off earlier in the season due to a snow covered pitch, and both teams are now playing catch up in terms of their outstanding fixtures. Burnley come into this match off the back of an excellent performance away at Brighton where they ran out 3-0 winners. Equally, Tottenham will ..read more
