Last weekend we had the great pleasure of hosting Wiley Wargame Weekend. We normally host this in October for my birthday, but this year we did that for our Weird War Stories event. This year's premiere game was Last Action Heroes. 32 of Hollywood's actions heroes sucked out of their movies to fight in a winner take all deathmatch ala Secret Wars.Eight players had to pick their teams from just looking at their VHS boxes just like the old days of video stores. I did the terrain sets while Steve did miniatures and the fantastic cards. The goal was to take out all the other teams, earnin ..read more

Apologies for letting the blog slide. Surgery, a convetion and starting a new job kinda took over posting. I've been playing, just not posting. Most of my work goes up on the Wiley Games Facebook page or Discord channel.   Last night we dusted off an old favorite. Superheroes!  Eggstreminator stalks the shadows look for prey.... One-Eyed Jack takes to the skies to get in position for an aerial assault. A.J.A.X. responds and gets blasted for it. She Wolf goes toe to toe with Hero Sanwich! Hero Sandwich gets assistance from Black Gold who traps She Wolf in an oil slick. The ..read more

Amazing Wiley Wargame Weekend full of great games and people. Thanks to everyone who drove miles and miles to put on games. Terror Island: I played the nefarious Nemo. My crabmen and minions were soundly defeated by a gaggle of dogs and kids. Crazy factions from all over time, adventurers, villains and scientists. Thanks to Steve for all the miniatures and cards and running it.   Then it was What a Tanker where I somehow fared even worse. My Jadgpanzer was knocked out turn 2 before he got a shot off. Thanks to Chris Arnold for putting it on.  ..read more

We had another fun, informative playtest of of our upcoming mech battle title Battlesuit Alpha.  This was a 4 player game with each player running around 5 mechs. The rules allow players to control vehicles, infantry and flyers too, but we kept it a pure mech battle this time. The mission: find a downed pilot being held by rebel forces. Do you know where you are? You're in the jungle, baby... Rebel "Freedom Fighters". Rescue Force Anaconda. The Rebels saw losses early but quickly rallied and during close quarters action soundly stomped the attackers. They would hold on t ..read more

Not too long ago in a basement not so far away...   May 7th, in honor of May the Fourth, we hosted a GALACTIC sized Star Wars game. I’ve done games that were linked, where the outcome of one is directly linked to the next game in the series. But I’ve always wanted to a set of games that were linked but also simultaneous and interconnected. Three separate games, going on at the same time, but each game has an effect on the others.   Luckily, I’ve got a large enough gaming space at my house to host my mad idea.   Background Imperial base Omicron on the planet Covid Prime ..read more

Fistful of Lead Golden Age Supers: The Last Boat Out

Last night was the first in few months where Thursday didn't involve snow. A perfect time for part 2 of our Golden Age Supers game. Last episode the Liberty Legion failed to stop Projekt Ragnarok from releasing an interdimensional being during an ancient ritual in the Central American jungle. Not only was the Liberty Legion soundly defeated but they last a number of heroes in the process. They've put out the call out to the local heroes to stop the baddies from reaching their awaiting U-Boat. The scenario was simple, get the "Emissary" to the sub, or stop it. The game itself was a mash ..read more
