It is that time of year again, where the bugs are out and nothing but fierce! And I don’t know about you but they seem to be worse than ever this year. Since I am allergic to both mosquitos and bug spray (no surprise there), normally I just wear long pants and a jacket and am relatively okay. But this year has not been the case, and last week I was bit by an infected mosquito and it has been downhill ever since. So I went on a mission to make a bug spray out of essential oils that is safe, yet effective. Needless to say, it has be wonderful and smells so lovely that I thought I would share it ..read more

I don’t know about you but I am over this hot weather and ready for the cooler months. This heat wave seems to have no end in sight, making me overly excited for the fall season! Fall and winter are my two favourite seasons; fall because of the fashion and winter because I am Canadian and LOVE the snow (the colder the better in my eyes)! I start dreaming of the fall season fashion trends pretty much as soon as spring starts to come around, I love it that much. And this year is no exception. I have some staple fall pieces that I carry over from year’s past because in my eyes, they are less of a ..read more

5 Workwear Staples That Will Elevate Your Wardrobe

Revolve Skirt | Marissa Webb Emmerson Oxford Shirt | Manolo Blahnik Hangisi | High Waisted Pencil Skirt As you may know, a pencil skirt is a staple in anyone’s wardrobe. Since I tend to be a little bit more on the fancier side of things, a faux leather pencil skirt is my skirt of choice. But I have to be honest though and admit that I never wore skirts until this year (I know crazy eh). I have always opted for separates instead, as finding the perfect length was always difficult for my height and body type. But now that I have, I am obsessed. This length is extremely flattering (even on a sho ..read more

5 Books Worth Reading

Ever since I was a teen, I’ve loved reading (well then I would hope so considering school is my favourite pastime). Since we are still at home, I have been doing a-lot more reading than normal; whether that is with a book and a warm cup of tea or listening to audiobook on my bike rides. Either way, it is my other favourite pastime! My favourite books to read are psychological thrillers. But honestly, I am a bit picky when it comes to these types of books because I tend to be able to predict exactly how it is going to end from the beginning, and when I can do that, I am not a fan. If I can read ..read more

Baked Tomato, Spinach, and Mushroom Gnocchi

It has been a crazy week this week and when that happens I tend to dip back into my old, bad habits and emotionally eat. So before I let myself do that, I made my favourite comfort food into a point-friendly dish! Pasta is one of my favourite dishes (next to pizza that is), so I went on the hunt for the perfect gnocchi dish! I came across a few different recipes and decided to use them as a starting point and add my own little flare to it. My favourite ingredients to add to any pasta dish are mushrooms and spinach (and truffles but that will be for a different day) but if either of these don’t ..read more

I think it is safe to stay, that this year hasn’t really been going as planned; bed rest, foot surgery, and now COVID lockdown. Despite everything, the only way we can stay mentally healthy is to try and keep some aspect of our ‘old’ lives in tact as we navigate what is to come, together. So I wanted to make a list of all my favourite products that I have been using, or just bought, this month. Hopefully to inspire you to either treat yourself to something new or remind you to set aside a moment just for yourself, however that might look for you, because everyone deserves a little loving from ..read more

There are so many great sales going on right now. Since it looks like there has been a step in the direction of reopening the economy, I wanted to take advantage and pick up some things to freshen up my wardrobe for the summer. So here are some of my favourite trends this season! Express Satin Tee | Kate Spade Train Clutch | Ted Baker Bow Booties | High Waisted Pleated Shorts I absolutely loved these high waisted pleated pants I bought last year so I knew I had to find similar shorts this summer. High waisted pants are a 70s trend that I will always be on board with! Not only do they hold ever ..read more

My Acne Fighting Go-to’s

I have been struggling with acne for what feels like my entire life. It started back when I was playing hockey as a kid. Not only did I have it on my face, but with all my equipment, I had it on my back and my chest. It was everywhere and we tried everything but could never get it under control. So at its worst, I went on Accutane (I know this is a very controversial medication and it is definitely not for everyone, but for me, it changed my life). Now, fast forward 20 years and I still struggle with acne but nowhere near as bad as it was when I was a kid. As I have gotten older, my acne is mo ..read more

Gluten Free Everything Bagel Bites

When I first joined weight watchers, the first thing I did was convert all of my favourite foods into more point-friendly options, and that included anything that had to do with pizza and bread. The more I researched recipes and found YouTuber’s I loved (Amanda Cypert is my favourite, especially for these bagel bites) the more I kept seeing recipes using ‘2 Ingredient Dough’; which is 1 cup self rising flour mixed with 1 cup non-fat greek yogurt. I really wanted to see what all the fuss was about but I was having the hardest time finding a good gluten free self-rising blend. So, as always, I d ..read more
