WHY DOGS LIVE LESS THAN HUMAN Here's the surprising answer of a 6 year old child. Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog’s owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle. I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn’t do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their... One for dog owners ..read more

Interesting article re WHS https://www.nationalclubgolfer.com/news/world-handicap-system-club-competitions/ I'd go with a trial for it to be compulsory to put every card in from April to October ( opt out if declared a practice round) which would be similar to what we did in NZ but longer due to better weather. It takes out the "ooh I've got a card " in my hand for medals and a round becomes just a round with no competition pressure and felt I played better as more relaxed ..read more

Interested to know which ‘top 100’ list people prefer and why? Given there appear to be several lists including: https://www.top100golfcourses.com/ Golf World / Today’s Golfer Golf Monthly National Club Golfer It seems approaches vary, from user rated, to a more strict review panel type process. Do any feel fairer / more representative than others? Noting this is a very subjective top ..read more

I have booked our 2023 golf trip to Southport. So, for the golf I'm looking at West Derby, Formby Hall and Hesketh. Although the first two, after a quick check, seem to have gone down hill of late. Any other suggestions? Leaving out the big guns. We ain't paying £100 + for golf ..read more
