Raygun is 7 months old, we are new dog owners and just got her two weeks ago. She came with this crate 42 inches, and her (mid?) back stands quite high. When she is in the crate she seems to hunch over whether sitting or standing.
Attaching pictures. I know there are lots of crate size threads and there seem to be diverse opinions from 42 or 48 inches. She will likely grow up to be 75#, and is currently underweight at 46.2#, apparently her parents were average height.
Please advise! Thank...

My best friend took an interest in this super cutie and asked me to share this link. Not sure what is going on with his skin or his full story but sadly his time is running out.

This was a social media blast and someone who knows I belong to a GSD forum sent it to me. This sweet dog has been red listed. The video can tell you more. If you know anyone who might be interested, message me for more info. She has until Friday afternoon.
It sounds like she was in a situation with someone who is inexperienced with GSDs and may have put her into situations she could not handle. She does not like cats ..read more

Has anyone used First Mate dog food? I ended up with a bag of it and I’m not sure whether to use it as a supplemental food to help add calories to an underweight dog’s diet or donate it. It has high ratings on Dog Food Adviser. Ive never heard of it before ..read more

I have grown up my entire life with dogs. As a new owner I can see why a GSD is NOT for first time dog owners. I’m currently training my girl not to go after our cat lol. She’s doing great with training but I’m finding it’s not so much her who needs the training it’s my family! ???
My spouse has had one dog his entire life as a small kid so never really grew up around them. So Pepper goes to chase the cat outside and I yell for him to stop her. His solution was to grab the dog, hold her...

My girls is about 21 months old now and just finished her 2nd heat cycle about 2 or 3 weeks ago. She still eats, drinks and runs when outside. However she seems way more serious now, before I would gently grab her leg or feet or something and playtime was on. Now she looks at me like I am crazy and why you do this? She then just walks away. She also seems to be lazier but I chalk that up to her probably still going through residual heat issues ..read more

I have a 2 year old male shepherd who is a great dog. I have my entire property fenced including my front yard. We play and spend a lot of time in the front yard. I leave him outside without worry. He barks at the fence sometimes depending on who it is and if there is a dog he wants to bark at. We have had many break ins, stolen patio furniture, and lawn equipment in my neighborhood. I want him to bark, that is his job. He actually stopped someone from robbing my neighbors construction site...

When I saw this beaver at the pet shop, I knew I had to get it!
I randomly placed it in my home, waiting for Ace to see it. His reaction matched my expectations, he thought it was a real thing, head down, tail up, slowly approaching like he does to squirrels, until… bam!!! He grabs it and It’s just a toy ..read more

It's that time of year again for seasonal allergies so I thought I would update on Jax's progress. Two years ago, Jax developed allergies complete with a dull coat, chewing and itching. We suffered thru the first summer, knew it was seasonal with the first hard freeze. The next year it started just as bad as it ended. Benadryl didn't touch it, Claritin barely had it under control. So I looked and researched her alternatives....and found HONEY. How simple is that, right? It worked...
