Erling Haaland faced his former club Borussia Dortmund for the first time on Wednesday. The world-class striker spent two-and-a-half years with the German team before heading to Manchester City this summer. Although it took time for the Norway international to make an impact on the night, Haaland eventually scored the winning goal of the match.

Reports show Italy’s Serie A is ready to introduce semi-automated offside technology to assist VAR. La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that there have been discussions to bring in the technology as early as October.
Serie A would be the first domestic league to use the semi-automated offside technology. However, the UEFA Champions League already uses the programming.

Paul Pogba’s management team announced Monday that the France midfielder would undergo surgery, putting his chances of playing in the World Cup in doubt.
In August during pre-season training with Juventus, Pogba tore a lesion in his lateral meniscus. More recently, lab results did not see improvement on his right knee.

Paris Saint-Germain can’t win. Even after defeating Nantes 3-0 in Ligue 1 on Sunday, the French club was criticized by railway officials for leaving a carbon footprint.
The criticism came from the director of a French railway company. After the away game in Nantes, PSG players flew back home to Paris.
