Don is 10 - and pretty sensible . he does LOVE trying to dig rabbits out of burrows - but is basically settled.
yesterday morning he treed a feral cat , and then proceeded to climb the tree! Don is not little, and not athletic like most of our Koolies . One of his grandfathers was a lab, so he is solid.
The tree concerned is a very old, large and gnarled peppertree - with big thick branches of all shapes under a canopy of foliage .
It is a bit like a spiral staircase ....and after Don clambered up the trunk to where branches started he then climbed 10-12 feet up ! I didn't call him ..read more

Hey everyone,
First poster here. I have a 6 month old Kelpie x Collie who has such a beautiful and friendly nature. When I take him to the off-leash park, which is everyday, he becomes hyper-focused on everything. He will greet all people and play with most dogs that let him. My concern is him getting a little aggressive when he has had enough. Even though he has instigated the play for 5-10 minutes, when he has had enough he will snap and go at the other dog. I think it's his way of telling them to stop. Should I allow this behaviour or tell him off and leash it? He has never hurt anot ..read more

Do other Dolers experience this. You get to the park and your dog is leashed. But running around in the park is the well known attack dog. And because you don't want your dog attacked you walk the long way round to avoid it. And the park bully who owns the dog is of course oblivious to other park users.
This puts the responsibility solely on the person with the leashed dog who is not the problem. The same dog is walked by teenagers on the weekend who just let it wander around the park unleashed while they sit on a park bench glued to their phone and obviously not ..read more

Does anyone else get as angry as I do at people walking their dogs off a leash all the time. They don't even bother to carry a leash with them.
In my street we have a cattledog that goes for other dogs and is continually off leash. There are also 2 large Golden Retreivers that act as a pack and again never a leash in sight.
You do wonder where the Rangers are when you need them ..read more

Hi,
As the title states, I've provided a stud service twice for a bitch and apparently she has not fallen pregnant both times. Now the owner is asking me to refund the money (I offered even a third time, even though in the verbal agreement I never agreed to this).
It's Golden Retriever's, my stud is very well proven, I only ever do natural mating with him and so far his track record is pretty much a good 99% success rate, this girl is one of three unsuccessful matings I've ever had out of 100+ girl's he'd matched and tied with.
Both times we matched this bitch she ha ..read more

Hi,
I’m after a breeder named Brendalhavan that breed papillons approximately 14-15yrs ago, or any breeders that are breeding offspring still? Also any that have a kejo? I’m down to my last papillon (I had 3), he is a mix of jovelchien x toistoree, they are beautiful dogs and love them dearly. I would really like to own another, preferably from the same bloodline. I’m not sure that I’m ready for another yet, my last is 14yrs and going strong, and I recently lost my 17yr old. Just putting out feelers for the future as my kids keep asking when we can get another puppy. Unfortu ..read more

Ok just a question for people , What dog do you really like the look of or desires the traits and temprements of that breed but do not and possiblly will not own for whatever reason , be it too big , to energetic , or too furry . I will start off ,
I really like the AKITA , but will never ever own one , the fur and grooming would drive me nuts , , close second is the Giant Schnauzer , but once again the grooming puts me off, and the wife says a definete NEVER , we had a long ..read more
