Over the years we have had 3 cats and 2 of them are now deceased. About 8 months ago we adopted a young, formally feral, Siamese cat, and we call him Capuchino, Capi for short. Some kids shot him with a pellet gun, and he had to have his right rear leg amputated. We think he is about 2-tears old.
At first, he would attack our existing 8-year-old cat, so we had to keep them separated. After a couple months that stopped and although they are not the best of friends, the fighting/attacks have...

My cat was recently treated with Revolution ten days ago for ear mites. She has since been isolated from the rest of the house due to two other cats we have. How long should she be kept in isolatio? I did notice her scartching her left ear and tilting her head earlier this morning. Does that mean the treatment isn‘t working ..read more

I've been using litte box liners for the past fews months and they have been great for me. My cat doesn't rip them to shreds and has fully accepted them. I just have to lift up the bag, remove the dirty litter and change it for a new one once a week. I also scoop daily, so the topic of smell has been kept under control. That being said, even though my litter box itself doesn't have any smell because of the liners, should I still clean the whole litter box after changing the litter? and if...

Hi everyone. I love the American shorthair. This is seen as your typical cat but I was amazed to see that thisvis a registed breed. So if the bloodline is pure and the catbis registered as purebred, he can be sold as such.
I really love the American shorthair as an energetic cat who makes a wonderful mouser for barns, etc. I especially love the mackerel striped tabby pattern.
I was wondering how easy it would be to breed and sell this breed.

I have two cats, D and S. We had to get D neuter as he's about a year old now but the only affordable vet was out of town so we where gone for about a week (stayed at a friends place for convivence.)
I expected both cats to not recognize each other after being gone + the surgery itself. Sure enough when they both saw each other they both got all puffy, growled and hissed. We have them separated of course (D stays in my room while S has the range of the house.)
D still wears his cone as...

When we rescued our cat Whiskers in Feb this year, she lived at the bottom of our mountain. We are at the 4700 altitude mark. Since bringing her up she's breathed fast 90% of the time, only breathing slower when very relaxed or sleeping. Now, to be fair I have no idea how fast she was breathing before we rescued her.
I just brought her to the vet 2 days ago and had an xray done, they said her heart looked normal but her lungs looked as if she may have had mild bronchitis but didn't...

Hey All,
I have been searching through the posts on feeding your cat and have learned a lot.
For the last 10 years or so, I have been feeding Hill's RX Diet C/D to a cat that had urinary issues. He passed recently (at 15 years of age).
About a year and a half ago, I took in a stray (truthfully she showed up and took ownership, lol). After proper quarantining/health checks etc. the two cats were integrated and they were both fed the same diet. Dry food out all the time, and wet food 2X...

Sometimes I think it’s very easy to take great behavior for granted - until something happens like you get sick or an elderly cat gets sick . That’s when the breed behaviors really kick in .
My favorite breed ( Persians) are so house- fastidious that there can any amount of dirty laundry even plastic bags on the floor they don’t go there . The litter in their litter boxes can be months overdue for changing but they still pee and poo there exclusively. It’s wonderful to be able to think...
