ORINDA (CBS SF) — Police were at Orinda Intermediate School on Tuesday, investigating reports of a student making threats to another student and holding what looked like a gun in social media photos since taken down. Orinda School District Superintendent Aida Glimme said rumors of the boy compiling a “shoot list” were false, and police determined the weapon held by one of two boys in the photo was either a toy or a BB gun. ORINDA (KPIX 5) – An East Bay woman battling stage 4 cancer said she feels grateful to be alive after being mauled by a bear at her family’s Lake Tahoe cabin over the weekend. “A bear mauling is not a little thing. It’s huge,” Laurel-Rose Von Hoffmann-Curzi told KPIX 5 as she sat in the living room of her Orinda home Wednesday. ORINDA (CBS SF) — Police pursuit of a suspect vehicle involved in a carjacking shut down eastbound lanes of Highway 24 east of Wilder Road in Orinda for 90 minutes Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities. According to Berkeley police, at about 1:48 p.m., officers spotted a vehicle wanted from a previous carjacking in Oakland. Police said the vehicle fled from officers and got on Highway 24 with officers in pursuit. ORINDA (BCN) — A shelter in place alert for residents living near Altamount Drive and La Cresta Road in Orinda was lifted after about 20 minutes Monday afternoon, following the arrest of a suspect who fled into the neighborhood.
