Hi, I’m Margot and I’m ready to share some shit!
Hi friends, I know it been far too long between blog posts. Like many of us, the challenges presented in the past year has given me pause to reassess a lot of aspects of my life. But in my case my crash course into this actually began a full year before the pandemic with my breast reduction in March 2019 and then followed 6 months later with a cross country move that involved being scammed by our moving company. Our social distancing and isolation began months before it hit everyone else but it gave us a head start on how to handle it, which is ..read more

Happy Pride month! Actually, I like to think of all of summer as Pride season since Vancouver Pride weekend isn’t until August. It makes my heart swell to see rainbows popping up everywhere and trans flags flying high! It’s so wonderfully colourful, but for goth leaning and magical folx we often wish there were darker options to share our Pride with the world, enter Etsy shop GrrrlSpells bringing us all manner of darker takes on Queer Magic for Pride and year round!

One of my absolute favourite things about the holidays is putting together my Gift Guides! As a lifetime weirdo, I know how special it is to receive a gift that actually reflects me and my interests, it makes me feel seen and loved as I am. So each year I build new guides to help steer our loved ones in the right directions to delight our hearts, or, if you have a lovable weirdo in your life that you’d like to floor with a thoughtful gift, then you’ve found the right place!
This year I have several fun themed Gift Guides, but I started with a Gift Guide for Witches and continued the magic with ..read more

Oh Hai! Long time no blogs. I’ve been on a kind of hiatus lately, a sabbatical if you will. I feel like after a hugely transformative year with major surgeries, mental break throughs, cross country moves and getting taken advantage during that process that by the time winter arrived I quite literally began to hibernate. I’ve spent my time bulking up my sweater collection and testing out which of my fuzzy slipper socks are my fave while slowly making this new place a home { it’s been slow going refurnishing a home from scratch }. But I came across this tweed set on Amazon and I felt the first t ..read more

We’re fast approaching the 6th and final season of Schitt’s Creek, which is both heartbreaking and heartwarming that they get to tell their story on their terms, but sad we don’t get to continue enjoying Moira’s outrageous outfits and accent, David’s growth and love with Patrick, Stevie and Johnny’s budding partnership, and of course A Little Bit Alexis. Even though the series is ending the fan base is rabid and thanks to Netflix, we can re-binge it over and over again, which we do…a LOT! So I thought I’d put together a gift guide for Schitt’s Creek Fans so they’re properly ready to celebrate ..read more

As many of you know, I moved across Canada at the end of September, all the way from Vancouver to Montreal! It has not been without it’s trials for sure. We packed up our lives in 3 short months and got rid of most of our furniture, part to reduce the cost of the move and part to start fresh with new things we loved instead of things we make do with. One of those things we left behind was our bed, we luckily sold it to the new person moving into our old suite so we had a bed right up until the day we packed up our cats and flew across the country but what were we going to sleep on once w ..read more

I get a lot of questions about my Amazon purchases and Amazon page. I just started shopping for clothes on amazon just 2 years ago and started with some handsome duds, but as time has progressed I’ve really been able to find the diamonds in the rough and I love being able to share them with you now! I’d like to start a series of my favourite finds off of Amazon so we’ll start here with one of my best finds was this plus size sweater from Amazon!
This is the Dearlove Oversized Open Front Cable Knit Sweater, the listing only goes up to XXL but do not let that deceive you! This sweater runs large ..read more

“Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light;
I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.”
― Sarah Williams, Twilight Hours: A Legacy of Verse
If this poetic quote rings true with your soul or of someone you love. I adore making my yearly gift guides for weirdos, witchy types and spooky bitches. We have very specifics tastes and when someone tunes in a shows how much they’re paying attention it’s world changing. But sometimes our loved ones are tuned in but have no idea where to find the things that make our hearts sing, so I enjoy doing the ..read more

Two things are front and center on my mind lately; decorating my new home and taking full advantage of spooky season. For a lot of us, or more likely, most of us here are the type that when Halloween decor hits the shelves we’re stocking up on home decor for the rest of the year! Though on Etsy you can find spooky sellers and makers year round, there seems something extra magical about acquiring handcrafted goods during spooky season, so today I partnered with Etsy to show you how you can turn your home into a haunted mansion with pieces you will be proud to keep up all year round!

One of my very favourite things about blogging is getting to hype up things I love and something I truly love is all the weirdos and style icons that grace my instagram feed! When I started over 6 years ago it was REALLY hard to find alternative and non mainstream fashion inspiration easily on Instagram so I felt the urge to create the hashtag #alternativecurves to make it easier to find the weirdos and misfits that are hell bent on doing things their way, left of the mainstream, rocking it like no one else. Fast forward to today and my feed is overflowing with badassery that inspires me daily ..read more
