Norwood's Shea Stadium is in the process of a renovation project for the first time since 2002. The venue, which opened as Norwood Municipal Stadium in 1972, is in the first and second phases of the project. A roadwork project coming to the Norwood Lateral will cause a 160 days of closures in the eastbound lanes starting in March, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. The project seeks to rehabilitate mainline bridges between the Paddock Road and I-71 interchanges, including bridges over Paddock, Reading Road and Ross Avenue. A man stole a City of Norwood work truck and drove it around for "a few hours" before police were able to stop him, according to Norwood police. Police said public works officials were doing work in the 4000 block of Montgomery Road at around 8:50 a.m. Police said that's when a man jumped into one of the worker's trucks and stole it. At least one person was hospitalized early Saturday morning after a head-on collision on the Norwood Lateral, Norwood police said. Police said they were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on the lateral around 3 a.m. A person driving a Toyota Rav 4 was traveling westbound on the lateral when a person driving a Chevrolet Camaro the wrong way on the lateral hit the Rav 4 head-on, police said. A Norwood man is accused of sending threatening social media messages to parents, saying that he wanted to rape, cannibalize and brutally murder their young daughters. All northbound lanes of I-75 have reopened beyond the Norwood Lateral after an unsafe light pole caused a closure.
